BTW, the lines for US residents were as long as the visitors lines. So no way to speed up in that area.

Thats weird. Was on the LX138 2 month ago and the PA walked me to a seperate lane with no people at all. She took the passport and talked to the immigration officers in some back room and then came back with the stamped passport and off I was in about 2 min. Same procedure with LH flight 2 weeks ago.
Worthwhile is if you are semi frequent to HKG is to register for the epass - takes about 10 min max - ask the PA - they will take you there. IS very vonvenient for both arrival or departure especially when you have no PA - meaning on any other airline.
Registration can only be done upon arrival - and is free for HON or SEN.

i was merely pointing out that on some stations OS have their own teams, JFK departure for instance, no PA on LH, but PA on OS. BKK also has different staff wether you arrive/depart on LH or OS...

haha of course, always at pax request... to be honest i don't see much point if they can't help with immigration lines (which they can in CAI though), at least the LH PAs can and do...
