The Definitive PAYBACK Thread
#301
Hi Oliver,
I have klicked on both the 8000 points "Jetzt sichern" button which says my gift is 8000 points plus an additional advantage of 50 Payback points and the 80 EUR Cash "Jetzt sicher" button which states that I will then get 80 EUR and 50 Payback points.
I think the usage of the word "zudem" might be misleading/incorrect in the email.
Your thoughts?

Is that two girls snuggling up on the front of Gong? Are M&M riding offers on dirty magazines?
By the way, is this offer only of relevance in Germany, or am I wasting my time trying to understand the numbers / what Payback is etc?

Every information about a "deal" costing less than 1 Euro-Cent per mile is always a good deal. Concerto: If the subscription is worthless to you - you can trash those magazines right into the dustbin; this still makes it a good deal.

Looks like there is another offer on with Payback. This time, freundin magazine is offered for €33.80 and 3,400 points:
http://www.zeitschriften-abo.com/pay...727a942dd9e760
No sure if this one has a €5 rebate by paying directly through the bank in Germany, because this one goes through BurdaDirect. If so, it makes it a potentially good deal.
Edit to say, that I can't get it to accept the street name on the address details page. Was just trying to push through to the last stage to see if the €5 rebate was offered.

At Payback, the shopping giant REWE has just joined the programme this week with a whole slew of promotions:
http://www.payback.de/pb/id/505396
This is good news for me, as I do a lot of my shopping at REWE. The basic rate is going to be 1 point per 2 Euros of spend, not a massively great deal but fairly standard for the Payback programme. The secret is to constantly use the coupons offering 3X and 5X points, as well as promotions on specific products if you happen to want them. For example, this week you can get 40X points on Knorr products (packets of soup and the like). So if I stock up with EUR10 worth of packet soups, I will end up with 5 x 40 = 200º (which can be useful when I come in late after a long evening of rehearsals, otherwise I prefer to make my own soup).
If you have a Payback account, activate the coupons online. There is currently a 10X coupon for your overall purchase on the go, as well as a 10X coupon for vegetables and fruit. The two can be combined. So for a purchase today of EUR37.23 I got 216º (of which 162º were for the overall 10X coupon and 36º for the vegetables and fruit 10X coupon.
You can also pick up a page of extra coupons in the shops themselves, which can't be activated online.
