Nice. Once you see the eyesore you can't unsee it. Heard story that the G20 photos had a hard time getting the crap stain out of the photos.

kinkaku-ji Temple Kyoto
Hi,
The Kinkaku-ji temple in Kyoto taken in mid april. Took the train and bus ( bus was well signposted from the station) . Fairly busy but only had to wait a few seconds or so to get to beside the fence to get the photos . Warm with a bit of hazy sunshine https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0e7bf915cb.jpg Kinkaku-ji temple , kyoto https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...edd67a4379.jpg Another view of Kinkaku-ji temple from the other side Quite beautiful Regards TBS |

Shosei-en Garden ,Kyoto
Hi,
Taken in mid April , first attraction i visited after checking into the Doubletree , Kyoto station. Short walk from Kyoto station, quiet and a nice relaxing way to spend some time after 2 overnight flights. Left the major tourist sights to first thing in the morning over the next few days. Leaflet provided ( almost like a thin a4 book was very good) https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...b25ddc32bd.jpg Shosei-en garden with Kyoto tower in the background https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...40aa1f09b1.jpg Shosei-en garden- did like the wooden bridge Regards TBS |

honganji temple Kyoto
Hi,
As Honganji temple was close to the Shosei-en garden, i stopped by on my route back to the hotel. It was not too busy late afternoon around 1630 https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...9ad2a5c196.jpg Honganji Temple Kyoto @1630 https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...6f6ca742e7.jpg Inside the temple complex https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...93020196df.jpg Inside the main hall. Loved the craftsmanship https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d5b99f8053.jpg View from the walkway between the 2 halls. Looks like a group of tourists posing for a shot in front of the bell Loved how the light shone on the gold leaf Regards TBS |
honganji late in the day is amazing. Always almost empty.
