A view from above of the covered shopping arcades of Naha, coming from Kokusaidori to the right. Naha is actually surpringly dense, and not very pretty when seen from above.

The two arcades running right to left in the picture more or less originate almost next to each other at Kokusaidori

I didn't find a pretty view of Naha from any angle.

Kintaikyo Bridge iwakuni

Hi

The kintaikyo bridge at iwakuni and the iwakuni Castle at the top of the hill on 27th April.
there was like a family market on the far side river bank selling plants, bric a brack etc
food stalls on this side ( I had grilled beef on a stick)

The park ( kikko i think) was beautiful

actually, it is a lot of fun riding that monorail through the city on a sunny day. Especially over towards the Shuri end, you feel like you're gliding over the city.

didn't you just land from NY like a week ago and were sniffing roses at Yamaguchi Airport a couple days ago?
I'd like to know your schedule lol.

Lol we arrived back here on the 26th and then flew to Yamaguchi on the 7th - and back last night. We will head to nyc on the 20th. Pretty boring schedule - I guess I post too much!

ETA -- to keep this thread on track here is one of my favorites things to do in Tokyo - Dinner!

This is just our local Sushi place around the corner from us in Hatchobori - it’s like many places that have amazing food but never show up in any of those “great” places to eat guidebooks….

I like Naha as a place to go, I find the the views and "mess" of the city fascinating, which is why I like to take picture of the views. A quick snapshot of the monorail tracks....

Looks fantastic. I love some pre-sushi 塩辛, too.

Speaking of monorail. This is the Hamamatsucho monorail station with the World Trade Center building removed.

that's nuts to see how big of a building it was that they removed. a little OT but why?

Hi,
From here, the area is being reconstructed with new office buildings being put up

Pre covid I did like going up to the 40th floor observation deck ( very nice views but none of Mt Fuji due to another building being put up)

Regards
