Based on everything so far, I'm not surprised.

My former, glowing praise of this property is retracted.

Used to be one of my favorite ICs. Not anymore.

Am I crazy or did this place have robes, clock radio, real glassware instead of plastic cups, fluffy towels, toiletries (like dental kit), etc?

Even my $53 room service salad had the cheese and dressing ramakins IN the bowl so they could use less translucent lettuce.

These are the top 2 shelves above the mini bar.

My guess is the cork screw is a subtle reminder to jam it in your brain for booking what's become a glorified CP. What an intense drop off in quality. Service standard too.

Hotel is so empty spire 73 is closed and breakfast is a la carte with a $39 credit for diamonds. The American breakfast is $30 + $6 coffee and you're maxed.

Omlette + toast + coffee + juice = $46 + tax + tip

Is this violating T&C?

EDIT - T&C says 1 min menu item and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. Toast is $10. Guess I won't be getting toast. Guarantee they'll charge on an OJ refill.

thank you for reporting and letting us know,
do mind your blood pressure !

Alas the hotel seems to go in the classic pittfall:
great at start reigned by corporate ,
but slippery slope downwards by management and bean counters,
wouldn't be surprising if after their evaluation,
owner may decide to switch to a different chain as better fitting their investment

The union effort and general California labor relations really hurt this property from last year to now. There is zero effort to maintain brand standards. Addon the taxes/fees they charge for every food outlet 🙄

So the $39 covers food + tax. Tip is on the guest.
You can get the American breakfast and either juice OR coffee and that will wipe out your $39.

I stayed one night last week. Was told by valet I had to pay the parking when retrieving my car. Of course when I checked my bill later, they added another valet charge on my room bill. Try calling and of course cannot reach anyone in accounting to adjust. Probably just going to dispute the whole thing with credit card.

This is some automated sms survey and I'd think no human looks at the individual responses. Best course of action is probably to give 1 and see if anyone actually reaches out when they see their scores drop. YMMV.

Either way, I find the current state of the US hospitality industry plain dreadful and will just not travel there for the time being. Prices are very high, what's offered is less and less or low quality and things that should be standard are expected to be supplemented with huge tips (25% seems the new normal) to compensate for employers paying their staff crap salaries. No thank you.

Yes. My point was to answer with a non-mumeric reply and see what happened.

It's also the same number that texts you, let us know if there is anything we can do for you by replying to this text.
