Indigo London - Paddington

What is your Priority Club status?
Gold

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room incl. breakfast at adv rate and got a room on 4th floor (out of 4).

What was your welcome gift?
Choice of points (they didn't say how many) or a welcome drink at the bar. I chose the drink but didn't use it and received 400 points per night on check out.

How are the rooms?
The room I got was on the top floor, so the ceiling was pitched and there was no view from the windows, as the facade does extend beyond the edge of the roof. As the hotel is located in an old building, the rooms are quite small, but nicely furnished. There is very little storage space (half of the closet is occupied by items such as the safe, iron etc. and there is only this single closet), and the bathroom is also quite small (while the shower is much larger than it needed to be).

How is the exec. lounge?
None available.

What was good and what was bad?

Good
  • very convenient location (directly opposite the station)
  • nice design
  • free mini bar with soft drinks, cookies, tea and nespresso coffee, replenished daily
  • hot breakfast is made to order and quite affordable when included in room rate

Bad
  • very limited storage space, tiny desk
  • some rooms might suffer from street noise (earplugs are provided)
  • very slow elevator
  • bathroom amenities were not refilled

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Considering the usual prices for London hotels, at GBP 160 per night incl. B/F for two, this was almost a bargain, especially considering the location. I would definitely return.

Another stay at the Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini. 2 nights, August 6-8.

In July I did a 12-night stay on Point Breaks, and Platinum recognition was so good that I cancelled a previously made booking at the Conrad and switched to the Crowne Plaza for a paid stay. Rates in low season are around US$100, a great value if you're Platinum.
Amazing, classy club lounge, 3 hour Happy Hour, can take breakfast in the lounge or at the excellent buffet downstairs.
Upgrade from standard to Deluxe Club room (larger room), offered late check out but not needed.
Was able to check in on arrival around 1pm.
Excellent excellent Platinum recognition. Oh and great location near Silom/Saladaeng Subway and Skytrain.
PM me for any questions.

Booked standard, got standard

300 points

How are the rooms?
Small.

Good

Not a particularly good weeknight value at $124+tax. But lots of junk in the area so using Priceline is very risky.

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a deluxe room. Was given an upgrade choice of either suite wo club acesss or premier room with runway view(usually a executive room but i requested for high floor/runway view & only premier room was available) with club access

- How are the rooms?
Spacious, work station, sofa, bed, comes with seperate rainfall shower and deep tub. Overall very good

- How is the exec. lounge?
Spacious. Able to accomodate at least 100 people. During my stay, at most there were 15-20 guests during cocktail hours. Evening canapes were of good spread and quality. Staff are extremely attentive and polite.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good - Room were spacious, lounge was very good for a CP. Recognition for elite members and overall design of hotel is very stylish and classy

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I paid SGD 260 for bonus 4k points package, usual adv purchase is 230-240. Considered pricey as IC Singapore is gg for similar rates. Hard decider.

How are the rooms?
Fantastic! It was spacious.

Chocolate, no mention of points.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good
- Fantastic, Professional staff
- Recognition of IHG member, dedicated check-in room available for Ambassador / Gold & Platinum
- Hotel location (Just about 1~2 minutes away from the subway station)
- Damn, GM really takes care of this hotel. I got an email from GM after submitting a survey which I addressed toilet flushing sound issue.

Bad
- Could hear toilet flushing sound.. originated from higher floor (GM told me they are going to fix / investigate)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Value for 35,000 points? hmm IMO 25,000 or 30,000 would be more reasonable.

Would you return?
Absolutely. It was memorable stay and I will definitely stay here again.

IC Adelaide

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked KING BED SUPERIOR and was upgraded to KING BED RIVER VIEW

How are the rooms?
Older style room that could do with a refresh. Spotlessly clean with a great view over the river.

How is the exec. lounge?
There is a Club InterContinental lounge but my rate did not provide access.

What was good and what was bad?
Location was excellent as I was attending a conference at the adjacent Adelaide Convention Centre.

Staff were genuinely warm and welcoming at check in with my room upgraded without asking. Requested and was granted 2PM checkout.

A large bottle of water and fruits were already in the room, with a handwritten note from the Guest Relations Manager thanking me for my loyalty as a Platinum Elite.

Only negative was the age of the room, which could definitely do with a refresh.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Good corporate rate and would be happy to return.

Holiday inn Leiden

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard room, received Executive room

How are the rooms?
So So.. It looks rather a motel. The shape of hotel was really weird. Hallway was just in front of my window.

What was your welcome gift?
three magazines includes Economist
Nespresso machine includes 6 capsules

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good
- Professional staff
- Recognition of IHG member
- Big swimming pool

Bad
- The shape of hotel
- Bathroom condition. They all made with plastics!
- Bad location from city center.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
I booked there around 40 Euro. So, compared with the other budget hotels, such as ibis, HIX, it was good. However, I think the room condition is weigh below for Holiday inn level.

Would you return?
Probably not. I will stay in the Hague or Schiphol airport.

IC Shanghai - Ruijin

What is your Priority Club status?
Gold

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
A definite yes!

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked DELUXE ROOM w/2 Queen beds. Received the same.

How are the rooms?
Very spacious and beautiful, large bathroom with 2 sinks, bathtub and large standing shower. It was much bigger than other IC properties I have stayed at. Had a high floor with a view of the garden and all of South Shanghai.

How is the exec. lounge?
Did not use.

What was good and what was bad?
First and foremost the service was terrific! All of the staff treated us very well throughout our stay. When we had an issue, or concern, the staff bent over backwards to resolve it.

Location is convenient, it is an 8-10 minute walk to the nearest subway station, once you exit the grounds. It is in the center of Shanghai (Puxi) and close to everything.

Large private garden and old historical buildings throughout.

Requested and was granted 2PM checkout.

A large bottle of water and apples were already in the room. Received 2 free drink coupons upon check in (good only for coffee, or a soft drink from their bar).

Only negative is (and a minor one at that) is that the 2 main gate entrances (Maoming & Ruijin Rd) that lead to the streets off of the property, are a bit of a walk from the main hotel building (the club rooms are in a separate building slightly closer). There is a closer side exit behind the main hotel building, on Fuxing Rd, but it closes after 10PM.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Excellent rate for the quality of hotel, room, and service. I would be happy to return. I would also be happy to recommend it to others as well.
