Yeah. The best you'll typically do with Gold is getting the better room within the class you booked. So a higher floor, a nicer view, and nowhere near a noisy ice machine, but not a suite or something.

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very happy

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
King room with sofa bed (using points), automatically upgraded to Club King incl. complimentary access to the lovely club lounge.

- How are the rooms?
Nice spacious room with a huge 55' Samsung TV. Separate bathtub and walk-in shower.

- How is the exec. lounge?
Wonderful! Serving daily breakfast 7:00-10:30, tapas 13:00-15:00 and again 19:30-22:30. Best of all, all day (7:00 - 23:00) free unlimited flow of Moet & Chandon champagne!!!

- What was good and what was bad?
Surprised by the automatic upgrade prior to arrival - was able to head up to the club lounge directly for check-in formalities instead of the regular lobby reception. (We checked on IHG.COM whilst waiting in the lobby reception queue, but noticed that the room type had been changed to the club room and there was a sign in the lobby directing customers confirmed in club rooms to the lounge for check-in)
Central location, 5 mins walk to metro and to the magic fountain.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
At 30K per night, it's worth it if you get the upgrade to club room. Will definitely return!

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not Happy

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Deluxe Room upgraded to Club Room with Straits Room

- How are the rooms?
Normal,Bathroom decor seems dated without bathtub and rainfall shower with mosaic tiles

- How is the exec. lounge?
Not good at all. 2 hot dishes (finger food), some cakes and sandwich, cookie jar and cheese spread. The sandwiches were cleared in less than 10minutes after being served and no replenishment after that. Finished plates were left at tables during breakfast service and not cleared until 30-45minutes later.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good - worthwhile upgrade, concierge is helpful and friendly.
Bad - executive lounge service level is horrendous since my last visit 1 year back.

My email to the general email, followed by GEM and then GM (1week gap) all did not receive any response.

My reservation comments for birthday celebration was ignored. There was no welcome card in the hotel nor fruits or cookies as previous stays. Club Lounge staff argued with me that it was not in their system. I shown them the original reservation with the comments and the staff shrugged and assured me he will arrange for a cake. When i was back at my seat, he shouted my name from his desk (20meters away!?) and called me over by showing the finger gesture. Spoke to me as though he is my manager -.-lll, My partner was annoyed with his attitude but i shrugged it off as its her birthday.

Asked for sparkling water and said there were none. Asked for cookies for my coffee during afternoon tea and was told there were no cookies as they were sold out.

At check in, was told that spa discount was 40%, only to argue with the spa staff who insisted that the discount was 20%, spa staff compromised to offer 30%/.

Requested for turndown service but was told by housekeeping that they do not offer turndown and gave me 4 bottles of assorted bath amenities instead (last year they did turn down!)

Breakfast ended at 1030 and i went to the lounge at 1045, i grabbed what was left at the spread and asked whether they had any bread/milk, on duty lounge staff said they ran out of bread but offered me cornflakes n milk. The same lounge staff which shouted my name came out from the office and stared at my partner from the lounge desk and mumbled in annoyance to the new staff.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
NO! Even with the upgrade, the service at the lounge will deter me from returning.

- What is your Priority Club status?
Gold Elite

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very happy

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Points redemption for standard room – upgraded to executive suite

- How are the rooms?
Very spacious suite with a big bed, couch, desk, fully-stocked kitchen, balcony overlooking the garden on the 5th floor (very quiet, considering the other side of the building was the noisy high street), TV. Separate bathroom with bathtub and walk-in shower, with all the necessary toiletries.

- What was good and what was bad?
I was quite chuffed to get such an upgrade on a points redemption. It was litteraly a bump from one end of the spectrum to the other. Was offered extra points or a drink at the bar. An overall excellent stay. Nothing crazy to report bar the noise of the fridge

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
45k points was a stretch, but the day’s rates were £399 for a standard room and £599 for a suite. Considering I got the latter, I’d say I got my points’ worth. Would happily return for another redemption!

Platinum Ambassador

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
sure

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
booked Chase free night (rate was $295) - received Presidential Suite

- How are the rooms?
I checked in late and after a lot of clicking around and side conversations, realized they appear to be overbooked with both a large teenage soccer tournament staying here, plus lots of flight crews. Instead of getting walked (as I was dreading, as it was 10:30PM, but I was sort of expecting given I booked via the Chase free night) I was offered the presidential suite.

It's a nice large suite, with a little open kitchen area with fridge, microwave, wet bar, dining/living area, and bedroom. One bathroom. Two oddly shaped closets. I would call this more a regular suite in most hotels, but take what I can get for free.

- What was good and what was bad?
Crazy check-in and long waits for elevators due to the soccer clubs and flight crews. Orderly, but long waits. Otherwise, no complaints.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Considering a free night redemption because I didn't want to pay $300 for a 10 hour stay, I'd say good value. Of course, this is the type of upgrade one gets when one is travelling alone with no one to impress

Elegant corporate design. A bit dark.

Breakfast area, with very good hot and cold breakfast
Seating area with massive curved Samsung television, books and magazines

What was good and what was bad?

Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard Two beds room, Received Club Level Two beds room with nice view of the city at the 31st floor.

How are the rooms?
Really rice! They are very clean and the bathroom was very modern

How is the exec. lounge?
Very bad, small, mediocre to bad food, small selection and too crowded. C'mon... a 35 floor building with an exe lounge of 10 seats? And with only ham and some cheese?

What was good and what was bad?
Good:.
The staff was great, they recognized my platinum status, the rooms were very clean and the mattress and pillows really soft.
modern lobby and rooms, great concierge service. Welcome spa kit.
Bad:
Exe. Lounge was really bad.

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
This was an expensive stay. ($240 per night) but I went in high season and it was the lowest price comparing to other hotels nearby. I would return for sure

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room using points, received a corner room (told it was an upgrade at check-in) and Exec lounge as welcome amenity (it was either that or 500 points).

How are the rooms?
- Nice and clean
- Wood floor, tub + shower
- Not much of a view

How is the exec. lounge?
- Nice selection of drinks at night
- Good breakfast spread (did not eat there but took a peek), close to the restaurant

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- Rooms were clean and simple
- Close to metro station (had to walk around the back of the hotel)
- Free shuttle to the airport

Bad:
- My king room had twin blankets instead of a king-sized one
- Not exactly bad, just some confusion about breakfast. When I checked in, the associate told me I can have breakfast at the lounge or in the restaurant, and either are included. He even said he recommends the restaurant because the selection would be better). I made sure it was included and had breakfast at the restaurant, but got billed for it when I checked out. Took 2 minutes of arguing to get them to take it off the room.

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
- Booked with 25000 points—I believe $190 was the cash price.
