What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked best advance rate, and received a quiet executuve room.

How are the rooms?
Not huge but comfortable
Basic but warm design
Bathroom with walk-in shower
Flat TV with good selection of French channels, plus some international channels
Kettle with tea/coffee set
Very quiet

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- Very friendly staff
- Free parking
- Bordeaux is a superb town
- Great weather

Bad:
- Location is convenient as an airport hotel, but you definitely need a car from the airport/to the city centre (even if there is some public transporation to city centre)

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Yes, even if a central IHG hotel in Bordeaux would be more than welcome!

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
It was okay.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest single room, got twin room with two beds.

How are the rooms?
Basic rooom. Nothing special about them, but I have seen smaller rooms in Japan.

How is the exec. lounge?
Did not have access.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
  • Quiet room
  • One bottle of water from the mini bar free a day.
  • Received English newspaper.

Bad:
  • No points gift or free drink
  • Upgrade to a two bed twin room is not of so much value, travelling alone.

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Probably yes, the stay was okay.

  • Using the pool (even without sauna and Japanese bath ) costs 1000 Yen.

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?

Well said. Helsinki Radisson properties are IMO always way better in price/value than HI city center

HI Tampere, Finland

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum (Gold at time of stay)

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
It was ok, nothing more

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard during last pointbreaks, got the same

How are the rooms?
Very basic and typical of older HI properties, bit dull.

How is the exec. lounge?
Did not check if there is one

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Fairly quiet despite facing street
Good location near train station and a nice park

Bad:
Old property and dull

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Pointbreaks always good value but I would not return here on my own dime. Probably neither on company res if you can get a decent price on the newly opened Sokos Hotel nearby, which is perhaps tallest hotel building in whole Finland (has certainly superb lake views)

- What is your Priority Club status?

Gold Elite

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Mixed feelings, serves the purpose before / after flying from DUB.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked entrance category room, upgraded to Club room with Lounge Access

- How are the rooms?

Large, king size bed,
Overall comfortable,
Bathtub, shower stall,
Temple Spa bathroom amenities

- How is the exec. lounge?

Usual offering of breakfast and happy hour drinks are only available from Monday to Friday, we had a weekend stay, Sat-Sun, so only free soft drinks available from the lounge, on Sunday only sparkling water was available, people took all still water, was never restocked. Don't know about the usual service on offer during the week, but we might find out when staying again here in the future.

- What was good and what was bad?

-Good:

Free Airport shuttle, warm welcome, good recognition as repeat guest.

Upgrade from standard room to Club Room with Lounge Access, breakfast was included in our rate, so don't know if its included with the Lounge Access or not, comfortable bedding, as always with IHG, good bathroom, liked the Temple Spa amenities, good quality, overall a good room incl. quality of the furniture.

Dinner at the Touzai Restaurant was good and service was friendly and warm, they've an Early bird menu each evening, priced at 24.95E for three courses.

-Bad:

The layout of the room could be improved, could only watch TV from the bed, overall the room felt too narrow and not wide enough.

Breakfast should be equally improved, it's too chaotic in the morning, tables unclean and offerings on the buffet are substandard from what we would expect from a Crowne Plaza, also no one brought us to our table and had to find one by ourselves which proofed difficult because they weren't cleaned up. Staff couldn't really cope with the guests on this occassion.

While a free shuttle bus service from the Airport / to the Airport is nice, the bus itself wasn't particular inviting, the bus was old and the driver too chatty for our liking. But this sounds like a personal thing.

Only one free bottle of water and one piece of chocolate provided on the room, despite we're two people.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Yes, it's value for money especially before or after a flight, it's not a destination hotel in itself, we would stay again in the future.
