I asked Citi customer care on phone few months back and they said it doesn't. I am more than happy to be wrong.

Anyway, Paytm is pretty much dead now (atleast in Bangalore), everyone wants gpay/upi nowadays.

We'll see... at the end of the month if the points actually post or not.

Is there no way to do a wallet loads into Amazon, PayTM etc. from your CC and then use that to scan and pay instead of the UPI through your bank account? Worst case you can do wallet pays for the categories Citi has forbidden direct payments to (against MCC codes) like insurance etc.

I hope they post.

The probtiem is all the barcodes in I see now a days are UPI, whatever app you use, upi will always come from bank.

For most forbidden categories like insurance, hdfc works like a charm.

You can get points for utilities payments like electricity via Amazon pay though.

The advantage with Citi is that apart from the .7% additional points...Citi also has far more transfer partners... so I prefer Citi to HDFC any day for regular non-accelerated points.

Citi 4% - HDFC 3.3% = 0.7% more points from Citi.

Maybe we should calculate the added bonuses for Citi as well - for Citi Gold, etc...

You certainly could. I didn't because it doesn't apply to me.

This wasn't a unbiased review of credit cards. I was comparing the benefits I get.

Hi,
Which cards is everyone using for insurance payments? Citi was my go to till they stopped allowing point accrual on insurance payments. Amex Plat doesn't allow points on insurance either. Any way to circumvent this by using PayTM or PhonePe?

Use Amazon Pay and/or HDFC Payzapp (supports non HDFC cards). Profit.
