Theoretically, a test match has 4 innings, right? (not all of them need to be played compulsorily though). This refers to the 3rd amongst those 4. In effect, it could either be:

1.) Second innings of the team that batted first in the first innings, OR
2.) Second innings of the team that batted second in the first innings and is following on (having scored 200+ runs less than other team's total)

Thanks and welcome, hope you like chai.

A target of 340 on a turning pitch, can the masters of spin do it? Or will Steyn blow some magic again? Darn from 130/6 to 340.

What is it with tailenders in this test?

!?!? For me, it's one of India's many pleasures. But, to each his own. It shocks my family and friends that I personally don't like chapatis. :)

There are two elements at play now - TIME and RUNS. If India wants to make a chase of it, they need Sehwag to get off to a flier and for the team to have at least 120-150 on the board by lunch for no more than 1-2 wickets. That sets it up for a reasonable chase in the afternoon. Once you start losing wickets though, time becomes the enemy and the batsmen have to hunker down into defensive mode and play out the day to avoid the loss. Either way, Sehwag will be the key in the morning. If he goes early, India will have to play for the draw and that will put serious pressure on the middle order with the uneven bounce we saw today.

Do you think it would be a good ploy to send Bhajji and then Zaheer to open with strict instructions to spank the ball and make it old? Could scuttle SA's ideas.

Not unless 0 for 2 strikes us as a good start. Steyn with the new ball on day 5 in the morning? I don't envy Sehwag and Gambhir.

Unruly Flyers to get 1 yr imprisonment or Rs. 5L fine as per new DGCA directive/law. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/i...ow/7226286.cms
