As for things being closed, it's not just fear, never mind (dis) respect that kept things closed and quiet. I spoke to my kinda-sorta ex who lives in Juhu, and, apparently, the Sena goondas went from bungalow to bungalow and demanded that all the Diwali lights be switched off, or else... They didn't even spare the super rich in their super expensive bungalows of super rich Juhu, never mind all the bogus statements the Sena wallahs made.

Interesting - didn't know this was happening...
Only one of my employees didn't show up, and didn't mention this.

Mumbai was and is still held to ransom by his henchmen. Househelp reported that they were not being let out of their homes and held back by the SS yesterday. Shopkeepers and others were also similarly asked to be off their business and then SS comes out and says this is "out of respect". yeah right! Even today, mornings were bad with people keeping indoors scared of SS!

O and they apparently arrested some poor girlie from Palghar because she wondered on facebook why the whole city needs to be shut down.
Then they arrested her little friend who agreed. Then 2, 000 goondas destroyed her uncles shop. |

SFB, this is what I was talking about. SS is overstretching this quite a bit, ie just showing political muscle... this feels like the mid 90s when they thought they could do anything
We really need an out of towner PC for that. Not someone who is a serial arse-kisser |

Hate to say this so bluntly, but all the cops really need to do (if they could) is to splatter a few, the rest will fall in line.

Anyone around for dinner in Delhi on this Thursday (or potentially even Friday)?
Keyser - It's my turn to get some malabar fish. ;) |
