doubletree mayur vihar....the location is good in terms of coming to & from delhi....

on a separate note, i stayed here once & they charged me for a second time about a month after i checked out....then they took 6 months to return that amount....

Happened to me at an SPG property (though I deal with the hotel first, as I think that SPG sees a public complaint on FT as much worse.)
Luckily it was also in Canada so I didn't worry about FX rates.
The other difference was that it was solved in 2 hours.

i gave the hotel time to sort this out....after about 4 months of getting nowhere i reached out to the hilton lurker here on ft & she was extremely helpful in getting this resolved....

Speaking of.... How about that blackouts?

Fortunately, we in the west were safe! Come to think of it, whilst everything else in Bombay has been steadily crumbling forever, thankfully we don't have a power problem.

I honestly don't remember the last time the power went out for even a minute (except the couple of times they were doing some work and the BEST sent out advance notices of scheduled outages).

Sad, I know. But thank God for small mercies.

Generators? Those things are still needed?

Yes, I know y'all have better roads and better governance and a better airport and a better local train system.

But we at least have uninterrupted electricity ! :o)

That's a normal couple of days in Punjab..... I estimate that my business uses Gen sets for at least 4-6 hrs on a good day and one full day every week which is a guaranteed power cut.

Wow. I thought those days were beyond us. Maybe I'm spoiled with the one thing that hasn't gone pear shaped in Bombay.

Clearly as one English newspaper said "A rich country that won't invest in itself."

Exactly, we have not even realized the black out - as every day there is 6-8 hrs of power cut.

And surprisingly on the days on blackout the availability was better & restored quickly.
