Your choice

On the other hand, if you are on the aisle, during sleep you are often in the aisle. Night-before-last on MAD – SCL (I believe IB’s longest flight) passengers in the Business Plus odd numbered rows had blankets, sox, feet and assorted possessions hanging, dangling and falling into the aisles.

I think LupineChemist is right: For the even-numbered rows, either travel with a friend, or make a new friend.

I recently did several long-haul segments in both the 330 and (retrofitted) 340 and I must say as a single traveler it was a superior experience. The single window seat was just perfect for resting and sleeping and felt very private. Contrary to other reviewers, i found both the food and service to be outstanding. I was very impressed with my first Iberia experiences.

Which seats in Business Plus?

My wife and I are trying to decide which seats to book for LAX-MAD-LAX. Here are the seat maps for the flights:

Does anyone know where the bathrooms and mini-cabin are? seatguru.com doesn't have a seat map that matches. I found this article but it says row 9 is the last row before coach so it's outdated:

Please see this thread:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/iberi...olidated.html#

There are two Business Plus aircraft and you have the new A340-600 layout (this is referred to as the 340-500 in IB's systems)

Anyway, what you are looking for should be in that thread.

Very glad I checked this forum. I had booked two biz seats for my wife and I on Iberia ORD-MAD through AA Codeshare in Jan and was assigned side by side seats in the old config. Starting reading this and was getting concerned so went to AA.com and our seat assignments had disappeared. Called AA and they said I had to call Iberia. Called Iberia and gentleman said..oh..you and your wife have seats....you are each in a window on opposite sides of business.

OK....Went to seat guru and said to Iberia Rep can we get "honeymoon seats"..Oh no..sorry sir, we can't CHANGE your seats..American has to call us to do that..REALLY?..Now in 50th minute with poor AA EP Agent who drew the short straw and answered my call and has been on hold with IB trying to change my seats. There has to be a better way..but this thread paid off handsomely!

It's really an unforgivable IT disaster that you cannot choose your seats on IB if you book through AA...

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but why couldn't the Iberia Rep have changed my seats when I was on with him? I had their ticket designator, not AA's Locator..for my own security??

It basically comes down to the reservation systems and AA codeshares on IB basically use a system from decades ago that has never been upgraded and it's not an Amadeus number like normal IB reservations.

Thank you for feeback. Still maddening as just hung up with American trying to confirm 3E and 3G as per Iberia yesterday and my wife is now in 3G but I was "denied" 3E although both Iberia yesterday and American this morning show it open. Will try again...

Any recommendations on two adults and a 3 year old flying together? I'm thinking the even numbered middle section (honeymoon seats) would be good for one parent + child. Where's the best place for the other adult to sit to be closest to the child/able to help out?

Maybe worth asking since I can't figure it out, does BOS-MAD generally get the new business class at this point? I'd actually prefer the old just for the closer seating, but I'm trying to plan for the new.

I've a similar challenge: we're on MAD-JFK (A330) booked as a BA codeshare (huge savings on a one way LIS-MAD-JFK-SFO in Business Plus,) but the BA Manage My Booking takes me to the Iberia website, which demands a code I don't have. I'd love to snag 3 or 5 E-G if I can.

The LIS-MAD A320 is booked as IB marketed and operated, but I still have the seats selection problem.

As oneworld (AA) Emerald, I'm relatively certain I can get an exception for baggage to 32 kg, right?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

¡Gracias!

And the Amadeus code from BA doesn't work?
