Does equipment often change, and, if so, how to best select seats in advance? I am on the LAX->MAD in October, and the seatmap offered to me for selection looks like an A350 (8 rows, only 3 seats in row 1). A 332 seems to currently be flying that route. If I select a window-side window seat, like 2A, might the flight change to one in which row 2 has a 2c not a 2a, and I would get moved to 2c? Thanks in advance!

Is 8L a good seat on the A330-300?

If your config is with the min-cabin and no PE, then it is decent but looking at the PE configured one 8L looks uncomfortably close to the galley.

On the A330 to JFK, does the first row have more foot room? Any reason to not choose row 1? I don't care about noise from the galley.

It's pretty much the same legroom in all rows in J. Aside from galley noise, you might have a bit of a queue around you for the toilets, during certain moments of the flight (e.g. pre-landing). Some aircraft (definitely A350, maybe A330) have some kind of crew storage where 0A/0L would otherwise be.

Ok. To be clear I'm not talking about legroom as of course that would be the same. But due to the design of the seats on most similar aircraft, as there is no seat in front of row one, the width of the space where your feet go when the bed is reclined is generally wider. That's what I meant about foot room. I'll even take a middle seat in row 1 for this reason.

Nope, no change here. It's not really a footwell but an elevated footrest under the TV. The bones of the seat are the same in all rows.

Is IB still flying A332s with old biz class? I thought this was long fazed out, but an upcoming TLV-MAD flight I'm looking at is showing a 3 row biz cabin configured as 2-3-2, so I'm a little surprised...

Honestly it's a premium economy seat so not that bad for a trans-Med flight. If you booked J you can request a 75% refund of that segment based on EU261

Not quite. Unlike proper longhaul routes, IB considers TLV midhaul thus can throw basically any product on that route, as long as it's called Business class.

On longhaul routes where LEVEL is subbed in, they call that cabin Y+ and everyone in J gets officially downgraded, and no new J sales are available. If they're still selling J, or the booking reflects as J, then IB considers it J. Same story with DSS.

did you ever fly this? I often choose row 1 as well as I prefer the non narrow. Footwell that reminds me of the mummy sleeping bags.

Sorry I unfortunately tested positive and had to wait a week before I could fly and that changed plans. I've still not flown on this plane.
