We are flying IB 6252 JFK-MAD on Nov 1st. We have just been notified of plane change and it looks like A340-500.
We chose seats 1A and 2C. Are they facing each other (as in BA) or facing in the same direction. How are these seats for a couple?

IB J seats are all forward facing. The window and aisle seats cannot see each other due to the shape and design of the seats and Row 1 sits further foward than row 2 also. If travelling with a partner you may be better off in the central seats situated together, with a moveable divider between the seats. I flew in these seats(Row 4) with my partner from BOG-MAD and found them very comfortable with a decent level of privacy.

Pardon me, but reading the wiki it appears that all IB A330s are always new biz class as of Apr 2014 - is that correct?

Pretty sure it's already been answered a few posts up, but just to confirm...
Doing LHR-MAD-GIG (economy class). The madrid to rio portion is serviced by Iberia A330-300. This will be on the new plane right?
Also on my return leg from GIG - MAD, I apparently have 55mins in madrid before my flight from MAD-LHR departs. Is that enough time? All in T4S

All the A330 have the new interiors, from the moment they were bought. It is the A340-600 that are being upgraded. Try to get a seat on row 10 if you are in economy. This is the bulkhead, with more legroom and, unlike in the emergency exit rows, there are no nearby toilets and there is no restriction in floor storage during take off if you want to keep a bag with you.
55 min should be plenty and, worst case scenario, there really are a lot of MAD-LHR flights every day, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Yllanes, I'm flying the GIG-MAD route on the A333. I'm flying with 3 other friends and currently booked in the middle section of the 2-4-2 configuration in row 10. Is there extra legroom as well or is the middle bulkhead moved backwards?
