World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes
Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
- Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
- The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
- This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
- For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
- 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
- 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
- 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Discoverist status every year
- 5 qualifying night credits every year
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel & purchase coverage
Other notes and tips
Chase spending tracker

Unless you have done it and received points as described, I'll be more cautious about this.
The way I see it, if you book your stay at SLH via Hyatt, your CC will be processed by Hyatt, then Hyatt pay SLH for your stay, Chase in turn will see that the charge is from Hyatt and issue points accordingly (4 CC points). You'll also receive 5 Hyatt base points + elite bonus points.
If you book your stay directly with SLH, you're staying at a SLH property, not Hyatt - even when that property participate in the partnership. Therefore, the charge is processed by SLH -> only 1 point for CC spend, no Hyatt base point and elite bonus.

based on your flair, im surprised you value 4x hyatt over 3x UR. but i guess all valuations are subjective.

Personally I often end up between 60 and 100 Hyatt nights where every tranche of 10 nights equals a 10k bonus. Each $5k spent on the Hyatt card gives 2 night credits so prorated that means 2k pts, so bottom line I am comparing 3x UR versus 4.4x Hyatt (not to mention that between April and June it's temporarily 4.6x with Hyatt due to the promo of 3 night credit rather than 2 nights). For folks with over 100 nights butt in bed with Hyatt then yes it should be a flat 4x in their valuation, not 4.4x because there is no bonus above 100 nights.
The other consideration is where to transfer UR. I am assuming that you never transfer to Hyatt if you prefer 3x UR. Then it comes down to each individual's travel pattern and which airline they generally use. Which are the airlines do you normally transfer UR to? I can get good value with transfers to SQ but I do not seem to be flying them enough to go through my entire balance of UR points which is why yes I think I have a preference for Hyatt 4.4x vs UR 3x.
As you said there is no single best answer and I could easily see the logic of something finding more value in UR if being a heavy user of some airlines which provide good value as transfer partners.

im impressed you were below 5/24 then and still below 5/24 now. and using a slot for this card. have you been doing biz apps? also, when did you get the hyatt bonus?
The product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any Hyatt Credit Card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Hyatt Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months.
you probably want to wait a month until after the bonus month just in case. and wait even more after you close the current card so it clears the system. i assume you want instant approval. otherwise you will be calling a lot.

I got the Hyatt bonus in August 2018 so my time is coming soon, assuming others report positive experiences here. Due to timing I cannot be the guinea pig
Sounds like you do not believe the Hyatt card is one of the top 5 cards offered by Chase given your comments above. Which ones do you value more besides Sapphire Reserve?

WOH monthly posting
Has anybody experienced their WOH CC points being credited twice for the month of May.
It appears that overnight a second May posting was processed.
In my case, given a credit, it involved a debit so I had twice the points taken out.
