World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes
Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
- Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
- The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
- This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
- For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
- 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
- 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
- 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Discoverist status every year
- 5 qualifying night credits every year
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel & purchase coverage
Other notes and tips
Chase spending tracker
- The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
- Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
- Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
- Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
- Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

the CC T&C has always said:
The product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any Hyatt Credit Card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Hyatt Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months.
if you canceled recently, the chase system will still show you have the old hyatt card. you will then have to recon and get eyes on your account. then if you reinstate the old hyatt card while holding the new one, who knows if the bonus will be clawed back. im sure many have done this already and are keeping it a secret.

youre not the first to think of that so good luck if you try it. im sure its a YMMV scenario. in theory, it could work. but anyone holding both at the same time aint talking about it because its not allowed. not just from a bonus perspective, but the TC actually says "product is not available". personally, chase as a banking tool is important to me so i dont mess with them too much. their cobrand portfolio is l33t.

How long is it taking everyone else to see all 10? I wonder if we have to wait the 6-8 weeks too.

I called Hyatt to ask about Chase Credit Nights not posting. Globalist Concierge told me that for the current promotion of 3 nights for every 5K spend, the Chase nights will post 6-8 weeks after the promotion ends Jun. 30. For those of us who are used to seeing the nights post day after the points post, this is a real pain. The promotion period covers 4/15-6/30 which straddles the month of April. Since the Chase Credit Nights for statement dated 5/5 have posted (I assume including spend from 4/15-5/2), I think we will need to track our own spend from 4/15 through 6/30 to make sure we earn the appropriate number of nights.
I also checked my Chase statement online and confirmed the 1K points were for grocery store bonus.

my last statement closed on June 6th. 2 nights stay credit posted next day. Extra 1 night stay credit posted on June 13th, just 7days past closing.

I applied for a new WOH Visa on May 20 & approved on May 21. They gave me Discoverist status around the beginning of June.

Following up from the post above from January. Right around now, there should be a few people who got the new WoH card from the beginning in June 2018 who are eligible to cancel and re-apply for a new one. I am curious if this will be sucessful for the bonus. If so, I will do the same at my anniversary time in August.

you probably want to wait a month until after the bonus month just in case. and wait even more after you close the current card so it clears the system. i assume you want instant approval. otherwise you will be calling a lot.

Well darn, I learn something new every day! I previously hesitated before using my Hyatt card at an SLH hotel (booked on slh.com) and used Chase Sapphire Reserve instead. Lesson learned!

The way I see it, if you book your stay at SLH via Hyatt, your CC will be processed by Hyatt, then Hyatt pay SLH for your stay, Chase in turn will see that the charge is from Hyatt and issue points accordingly (4 CC points). You'll also receive 5 Hyatt base points + elite bonus points.
If you book your stay directly with SLH, you're staying at a SLH property, not Hyatt - even when that property participate in the partnership. Therefore, the charge is processed by SLH -> only 1 point for CC spend, no Hyatt base point and elite bonus.
