World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes
Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
- Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
- The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
- This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
- For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
- 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
- 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
- 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Discoverist status every year
- 5 qualifying night credits every year
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel & purchase coverage
Other notes and tips
Chase spending tracker
- The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
- Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
- Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
- Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
- Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

I got another phone call. A different rep said that the 2nd $200 statement credit could not be applied to my account and that the rep who offered it to me made a mistake.
Now I'm back to square one. Is Chase in the habit of promising something and then doing something else?(or not doing it at all?)

so, a couple of Alila properties which I've stayed at posted as 1x instead of 4x (they are part of WoH). Has anyone had any success calling Chase and getting that fixed? Or is this going to be a painful, long conversation that goes nowhere?

Considering they offered it to you and it’s in your messages just screenshot, send it back letting them know that their agent offered it and to either honor the additional $200, post the 50k points or you’ll file a federal complaint. I’m guessing a supervisor will just work with you then.
Send a secure message. Show your original screenshots that show you signed up with the 50k bonus. Tell them that you would like them to honor that. Tell them you hope that this can be resolved through regular customer service channels but, if it can't be, you regret that you will be forced to file a complaint with the CFPB. And then, if it's not resolved, file the complaint.
If you would like a step between the secure message and the CFPB complaint, you can try following the instructions here: https://www.elliott.org/answers/how-...sumer-problem/ The relevant contacts are here: https://www.elliott.org/company-cont...an-chase-bank/ This worked very well for me when I had a problem with Lyft. The person I emailed never replied but suddenly my case went from being a "final decision that can't be reversed" to them emailing me to thank me for my feedback on their customer service, and telling me that they would issue me a refund (which they did). That's a totally different company (and industry), of course, so take it with a grain of salt.
Keep your messages polite and to the point. I would not even mention the offer of the extra $200; just tell them that you want to 50k points you were promised.

Yes, this. I would stop communicating over the phone at this point.

I used the contact info that you provided to contact them. Today, my account was credited for $400. (making it $600 statement credit total) They still insisted that they could NOT change my account to be associated to the 25000/50000 points offer. However, the extra $400 statement credit was the best they could do. $600 is more than acceptable to me.
Thanks again. I would not have gotten the extra dough without your help!

I am a bit shocked that Chase tried to pull back the $200 make-good offer. For a multi billion dollar corporation, for them to feel the need to nickel and dime when they could easily make $200 back (actually $105 after the AF as the poster was threatening to cancel) pretty easily.

Reason? They reneged on their offer from yesterday. Again. . I can't stand being lied to. THREE time in a row.
Got a secure message saying that they could had to remove the $400 statement credit that was applied yesterday. I looked at the account and sure enough, the $400 that they applied less than 24 hours ago was gone.
I would have more respect for them if they simply said " sorry, can't help ya... no way to change offer, even if we goofed"
Sorry for the rant... but since I closed my account, I guess there will be no more ranting about the Hyatt credit card from me.

Strike 3 for Chase. They are out. I just called and had my new Hyatt Chase card closed

I still think that closing it was a mistake. I would have just escalated. These things take time.
If you emailed the contacts from elliott.org, and then, if necessary, filed a CFPB complaint, I'm sure that you would have gotten your points. You actually have evidence that you signed up for the offer. You could even sue them for value of the points in small claims court if the CFPB complaint did not work.
The problem is that this card is very good -- IMO, it fills a gap that makes it irreplaceable. Even with no signup bonus, it's worth signing up for and using.

what would be helpful is to also understand will they treat this failed attempt as a "received bonus" which locks you out for product for 24 months or could you be free to sign up again after 30 days (for the 50k offer), and this only costs you Hard Credit Pull and 1 card out of the 5 allowed by Chase in any given 24 month period, which is only a factor for small percent of customers who sign up regularly for credit cards.
