World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

wow. lucky you. appreciate the verification. i wonder if its a timing loophole. maybe theres some trick to the upgrade timing. pretty sure thats not standard procedure because the card does not come with a free night. its only upon renewal. but amex HH aspire works like that and thats why theres so much upgrade/downgrade abuse.

similar to you, my old hyatt anniversary was march 2019. got the cert. then upgraded july 2019. had the +/- AF dance, but no xtra cert. then spent 15k, got the spend cert. not only that, i had already received my new 2020 cert based on my march 2019 anniversary date. no idea what happened. that means i got the cert way before my new AF in july 2020. so many DP about reset date, but not me. maybe next year? who knows. looks like we need more DPs to come in. im sure plenty of people were upgrading from the old card so i hope they chime in.

Anyone else seeing a "courtesy adjustment" line item for WOH points via CC spend?

This month I earned about 2K points (all unbonused spend)...also shows 1K "courtesy adjustment" points also being transferred over. Note it's not exactly 1/2 of my spend, so I don't think it's exactly some 50% bonus or anything.

Any other data points?

Nope - I have been using my CSR for all my grocery purchases since it's 5x.

I did not have a single dollar of bonused spend this past month...but still got this "courtesy adjustment". Not complaining, just curious.

thats odd. doesnt seem like anyone else is getting courtesy points if its not related to retention offers. is it a clean round number of 1k? does it also show its from chase vs hyatt? what do you see in your chase online rewards summary portal for hyatt? that should give you some clues.

Doesn't really correspond to anything...not an even $1K. Not a 2x or 3x multiple of any one charge. Just shows on Chase as Courtesy adjustments.

Not complaining - if it was Marriott, the number would likely be negative

hmm. ok. well good for you. if thats what you see on the chase site, then it must be old crap that you never received cuz i dont see chase give out points by mistake too often. usually its citi or amex. not to mention its under "courtesy adj" so something must have triggered it (like an audit) vs your spend.

I believe that’s true only for the SLH that are participating in WoH. Not all SLH hotels participate.

My WOH points posted on 6/5, and there is an 1K Reward bonus that I don't know what for. There is no other remark.

Usually the Chase Credit Card Nights post the day after. However, it's now late in the day 6/8 and those nights have not yet posted.

I know you don't receive a signup bonus if you hold the legacy Hyatt card. Possible to cancel old Hyatt card, apply for new card, then re-instate old card?

Same here. Still no night credit two days after points posted.

I called Hyatt to ask about Chase Credit Nights not posting. Globalist Concierge told me that for the current promotion of 3 nights for every 5K spend, the Chase nights will post 6-8 weeks after the promotion ends Jun. 30. For those of us who are used to seeing the nights post day after the points post, this is a real pain. The promotion period covers 4/15-6/30 which straddles the month of April. Since the Chase Credit Nights for statement dated 5/5 have posted (I assume including spend from 4/15-5/2), I think we will need to track our own spend from 4/15 through 6/30 to make sure we earn the appropriate number of nights.

I also checked my Chase statement online and confirmed the 1K points were for grocery store bonus.

I read that you can re-instate your account for up to 30 days after closing.
