I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I think it's long past time for the requirements for lifetime status to be increased. The criteria of 1,000,000 base points/$200,000 spend has been unchanged since 2003 (if not earlier). There used to be a requirement to have had Diamond (top tier before WoH) status for 10 years too, but that was removed when WoH was rolled out. As you note, inflation is raising rates increasing the points earning, and the footprint has doubled, or maybe tripled, since the lifetime program was rolled out. Combined that's making it far easier to earn LTG today than it was in the past.

That's me. I won't chase ltg because of fears it'll be acquired or destroyed like SPG was. I'll requalify for globalist if it's easy with nights because some properties treat me incredibly well
But I'm not intentionally going to spend $200,000 just to qualify. I spent way more than that for spg and wife is made becIse now we are stuck with Marriott. Thus, out of personal selfishness, I wish Hyatt would do 200,000 or a lot of nights. I have a lot of nights but won't get 200,000' anytime soon Of course I understand why they don't make it based on nights. But I could wish. 40%% of my nights come from one park Hyatt. If it weren't for them, I'd probably just pay as I go |
As I’ve mentioned before - Hyatt just doesn’t have the footprint of Hilton/Marriott/IHG and others.
I might find ONE HP somewhere at absurd rates to boot when there’s a half dozen each of the other brands with reasonable rates. so even trying to be loyal - I have no real choice. Maybe if they acquired Wyndham |

There was a time when Hyatt valued stays and nights but now it’s all about the dough $$$$$$ 200k of it just as it’s always been. Dont see any changes coming. Historically they are pretty set in their ways unless something disrupts that flow Starwood was the last hotel company in 1999 to get all hotel companies to work harder and be more generous I do wonder if there will ever be another like SPG. |

Hyatt has been around since the 1950s and here we are in 2025 and still here.

Hyatt is still expanding and will not on sale in the near future. The only shortcoming is its foot print. It seems that Hyatt focuses on all-inclusive properties which I do not like. |
Will Hyatt ever once again have partnerships that give base points (like the Lindblad cruises)?

I am at 750k base points, last 25% / 50k to go.
I managed to accelerate spending from 440k LTBP 2 years ago, need one last push, any ideas / tips apart from eating exclusively at Hyatts on vacation. I am a also Marriott LTP which is frigging worthless, hopefully this ends better. |
Wish FIND had some more consistent high-spend experiences that were not walking tours. The dinner/experience + stay at a nice property would be ideal (albeit currently in very limited quantities)

I don't think anyone intentionally spend $200,000 just to make LTG. Most of us travel for work and over time make it to LTG. I already made Marriott Plat LT and only $40K away from Hyatt LTG and at the end of my working career. Will probably spend lots of $ on Hyatt after retirement. Would not be surprised if I get LTG in another year or 2 after retirement.

Just finished a stay at HR Tokyo - leaves me sitting at ~990k lifetime...should be there by the end of March!

It also gives the hotels the leeway to serve poor quality dining cruise ship style and attracts the wrong customer base IMO |
Kind of a stealth nerf to free breakfast benefit for Globalists too
