Silly questions: does anyone has any datapoint if you get anything (one off reward and/or permanent perk) when reaching 2m base points?
And an unwritten promise of higher daily rates and devalued points going forward and likely declining benefits. Kidding aside not to much to look forward to except not having to earn status and staying when and where you want on your terms No pressure to stay :tu: I can choose best hotel/value & location especially as Hyatt rarely has any good promotions anymore Either you have a good stay or you don't pretty much.I find hotels taking us more for granted post pandemic Tides may be turning with Wall Street Journal reporting major hotel chains seeing signs of softening Welcome to LT Globalist :) |
I am at 750k base points, last 25% / 50k to go.
I managed to accelerate spending from 440k LTBP 2 years ago, need one last push, any ideas / tips apart from eating exclusively at Hyatts on vacation. I am a also Marriott LTP which is frigging worthless, hopefully this ends better. |

Every market and destination have hotels that are great and those rotten to the core with elite recognition and customer relationship management. While Marriott has more properties as you have found bigger isn’t always better Hyatt experience while good has declined somewhat. However they do have properties that seem to care more about guest satisfaction at least in the full service Hyatt branded properties on average. Hyatt Food and beverage quality and variety are way down within North America. With Marriott if you choose wisely and avoid M Lounge properties you may get a superior breakfast over Hyatt. Its all about cherry picking the best properties for the most valuable perks and experience. You have to do your research for the best potential outcome Abroad Marriott has creamed Hyatt in select countries with superior lounges and breakfast offerings So much will depend on guest insight and where your travel takes you too that will likely influence your final outcome Im grateful to both programs and on a rainy day even prefer IHg with Ambassador Plat status to both Marriott and Hyatt occasionally Being a equal opportunity program user allows the best of all worlds as programs and hotels continue to demolish guest experience due to cost cutting and charge a massive premium these days while continuing to offer less all to often sadly |

Do points earned by dining at Hyatts when not a guest count toward lifetime base point total for lifetime globalist?

They count typically. First always be certain before dining make that they are a participating restaurant that allows earning points without stays.Second be sure at the time the check comes that the server or manager takes your world of Hyatt account number and hands you a transaction receipt. If the visit doesn't post to your account fax email etc over to Hyatt so you can get your base points & points for redemption you earned added to your account |
How many LTG are there?
Does anyone have even an estimate of how many LTGs there are? Just curious…

I've seen them inside the hotel before. In fact, I even got one to charge it to my room one time. |

Alternatively if the list no longer exits you might wish to call Hyatt customer service or Hyatt Consumer Affairs to see if the one you wish to visit participates . My last bit of advice would be to call the hotel restaurant directly and pose the question to a manager. My preference would be going through World of Hyatt so they can be responsible if incorrectly advised. Always get a name of who you spoke with and it doesn’t hurt to have a case number if you are calling World of Hyatt and have to refer back at a later date. |
Here's the link to search for participating locations, but that doesn't mean every outlet at one of those locations participates.
Search Participating Dining and Spa Locations There are multiple threads that discuss points earning for dining ... Here's one that's relatively recent. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyat...-dining-4.html |
That was helpful Skj
thank you |
