But as I said i didn’t get anything initially from Hyatt (not even a email). All was organised directly by MHC after I exchanged a few emails with her to express my surprise/disapoitment… |

Going to re-post a question I asked previously.....
Anyone have any idea or educated guess as to how many LTGs there are? So what do you think would be great to set apart from Globalists? I want (but would never get it) that we get at least 50% bonus points. The 30% Globalist bonus is pathetic compared to the other loyalty programmes. Seeing that for those who live outside the USA and we are unable to get the credit card that earns or transfers to WOH, there is no other way for us to earn points other than staying or buying. |
Very good take...it would certainly be very interesting to have some kind of idea of how many LTGs per state/country. I seriously doubt, though, if Hyatt would release this information.
Regarding benefits for LTG vs Globalists.... LTG already do get GOH & SUAs automatically deposited into our account each year without having to spend any money or complete any stays - and I think this a very valuable benefit. Nearly every time that I check-in at a Hyatt, my Lifetime status is mentioned and I am thanked..... and the vast majority of times I receive an upgrade of some sort -- and occasionally, the upgrade involves a Premium Suite. Would I say NO to a 50% bonus, of course not..... but I do think there are benefits to LTG vs Globalists. Just one man's opinion.... |
I agree (and you forgot to mention the free Cat 1-7 certificate as well).
Of course any additional benefit would be appreciated but what I would like even more is a higher lifetime tier differentiating you from the “mere LTG” (especially if your assumptions of numbers staying at a single property at anytime is correct even though I find it very high) and keeping you motivated in the game :p |

Just one man's opinion.... as it has been for many years now with or without LT status Hyatt and its hotels don’t break to many rules like extending expiring anything Sad as they once seemed to genuinely care back in the day. The best part of being a LT Globe inner program perks aside is not having to earn it and having LT in other programs as well which allows one to cherry pick the hotels that offers the best experience and value proposition or location. No pressure or commitment to stay Some hotels don’t have much to offer in the way of upgrades to begin with so you get a room pretty much My best experiences where something magical has occurred is being a longtime guest at a given property having a tight relationship with the team and or management and being a loyal high tipping respected guest who treats them well as they do back in return. I’ve also moved some of my business away from Hyatt as rooms have become overpriced on revenue and points and dining has declined within the US primarily for all meals. The targeted promotions right out of the Starwood playbook of the past has particularly irked me and I have plans to cut some more of my business and take it elsewhere. Truly pathetic and discriminatory for high frequency customers It’s as if broad based promotions are a thing of the past for the most part Being taken for granted gets old year after year. Not to say it’s all sour grapes either 🙃 I do value the properties where it all works and value the friendships and experiences primarily abroad. |
The biggest drawback for members outside the USA is the inability to earn points thru credit cards cos we can't get it and all points earned are only thru stays. Hence double points promos are good for me. So even as LTG, I need to stay to earn the free nights and bonus points.

Would be nice to have some additional perks for non-US residents :D
All that being said, I´m otherwise super happy with Hyatt. |

Long time LTG and reader of this forum based in Europe, I agree. Just short of 2M base points and for the first time shifting my Q3 & Q4 50 night travel away from Hyatt. While I have always stayed loyal to Hyatt, I have not received any targeted offers for the longest time. I always appreciated the global promotions in the past, but apparently Hyatt assume I´ll continue to do 100+ nights a year. A relative of mine who struggle to reach globalist every year is flooded with promotions.
All that being said, I´m otherwise super happy with Hyatt. I do not really get any appealing promos either, an interesting promo may have led me to shift back to Hyatt. For non-US residents, achieving status and milestones is so much more difficult, so I really appreciate the LTG and not having to chase the nights any longer. |
I have often wondered, if Hyatt may introduce another higher tier and not grant the awards automatically to LTGs (or another set of awards, which are less attractive). I can imagine there are quite a few LTG who nowadays simply just pick the best hotel to suit their needs, since they do not need to actually achieve the milestones.
I have for instance given up on chasing status for airlines. Since I anyway travel business on leisure, I get the perks I want (lounge, pre-boarding, seat selection, etc) more or less regardless of airline. I chose what best fits my schedule, wants and needs. Any other thoughts? |

Long time Globalist and I'm not getting any promos either. My plan is to finish the year at about 35 nights unless I get good promos, and then in December, if I decide I want Globalist again, I'll do credit card spend. I'm hoping to let it lapse but I know I'll want it.
Meanwhile, I have one two night stay booked for the rest of 2025. Hopefully they'll incentivize me. And if not, that's OK too. |

That was my initial thought too, but they are treating us so well that there is no reason to stay with other brands when there is a Hyatt coverage.
