Taxi rate should be the same everyday as it is regulated.

reserving beach huts by email

Just chiming in on this one. I am a Diamond member. Going to Aruba for the first time (Jan. 4 -8), and got a Points+Cash room for 12,500 pts + $150/night (not the best room -- King Garden level).... but considering the same room was going for $599, it's probably a good deal. And I like that P+C apply for future elite status.

I called HGP to ask about using 1 of my upgrades -- and they said they didn't have them now. Do you think I can get one at check in? I don't really care, as I am traveling solo... but would like to use the three remaining upgrades I have before 2/28/17.

Also -- FYI -- because of all I've read about beach hut availability, I reserved one by email. I got it, front row.. but Whoa -- it's now $60/day! I will probably keep it the first day, and cancel the other ones to see how crowded it is.

I am heading down there Jan 7th. Right now I just used 25k a night. Thinking of upgrading to a suite. But, I also reserved a front row hut and was quoted $50 a day.

Same time frame, but different quotes for a front row beach hut. $10 won't break me, but I don't like all the inconsistencies I read about here and on Trip Advisor, etc. Seems like a lot of work (and cost) to assure some basic amenities for a Diamond member at the Aruba Hyatt. I guess I can't compare it to other resort destinations, as every place has different elements.

I will enjoy my trip, either way.... unless something goes terribly wrong.

I also just can't totally rely on the reviews from Trip Advisor, either. Some of these people sound like spoiled brats. While I do expect good service, some of the expectations in the reviews seem over-the-top.

I have no status with Hyatt. But, this has to be around my 40th time to aruba. I trade off where I stay. Last few years its been the Hilton but back to the Hyatt this time. The beach at the Hyatt to the left side could get very crowded try to get a hut to the right if looking at the ocean. I am not picky so I am one not to ask about service. If you do gamble get a players card.. they will take money off your room charges at the end. Great little hut on the beach for a cheap breakfast .. head right up the beach . Any questions let me know.. Hope we have great weather.. Unlike Aruba December was very rainy this year.

Thanks for the feedback. Wow. 40th time. My hut reserved is on the right side (if you are facing the beach, front row). Like you, I am not picky about service, either... I just don't want a disaster (ha ...does anyone?. I normally travel solo. Also thanks for the tip on the breakfast spot.

As for weather, Aruba seems to be the pick in the Caribbean because of its unique place avoiding rain. Let's hope for the best. I live in Colorado, and so my frequent snowbird spot is Los Cabos (but also don't go to a resort there, as I have great little Hyatt Place that's near the beach). Los Cabos (like LA) is pretty much sunny all year round. But I like to explore different places.

I had some issues during my recent stay and need to contact one of the managers. Does anybody have an email address to reach one of them? I have contacted the property on several occasions via phone and being transferred into general voicemal. Left several messages and no call back. Please PM me as I do not think we should be posting personal emails here.

I was informed by the front office manager that Diamond Suite Upgrades now book into the "Garden and Pool view Executive Suite", which was formerly the Cayena Suite. Unfortunately there are only 3 of these on property.

Also, I noticed that Point&Cash availability was significantly reduced as of 1/1 (at least for the several days at the end of 2017/first few weeks of 2018 I was looking at). Dates where multiple rooms could be booked using Points&Cash are now completely unavailable.

Just back from Hyatt aruba. I have no status but used points for my stay. Tried to upgrade using points to a suite prior to going but it was sold out. Was offered a suite upgrade for $60 a night. Which I thought was a great deal.

I know this thread is old but I need some help. I currently am going to the hyatt beginning of June and have booked a sunset suite, and reserved a palapa. I hear horror stories about the beach, which had me thinking of changing to another hotel in aruba ( bucuti )

Is it really that bad? Is the high-rise better for late 20 year olds? Is there any peace and quiet at the hotel? Whats the best spot to reserve a palapa. I am currently first row bear the red sail hut. Should I change?

I am also worried that I am going to get there and they are gonna tell me my room isn't available. Its huge fear considering I booked it strictly for the full ocean view and above all, the full size balcony.

Sorry for the many questions. Just want a nice time. Thank you so much

Booked direct through the website. Not a diamond or plat member though

If you booked a sunset suite... that is what you are going to get, why worry?

And the beach is perfectly adequate, the same as for most resorts.... a few rows of palapas and sand :-).

I own a time-share at the Costa Linda (next door to the Bucuti) - I can tell you for sure that for late 20s you want to be in the high-rise area, not the low-rise. Aruba is easy to get around, but there's nothing within walking distance of the Bucuti for going out, but lots around the Hyatt.

Thats true. I guess cause there is only so few of those rooms, and the price I paid for it was pretty incredible. 299 a night. Apparently it goes for much more. I was worried they would try and give it to someone else lol.. Id be upset if it " somehow " was over booked.

Yeah getting a nice tan is deff high on the list
