You can pre-reserve space on the beach; highly recommend to do so to get (nice) spots.

Enjoy your stay!
Thank you! For space on the beach are you talking about the Palapas? If so, I've chosen one for each day already to be safe.

Yes, I was referring to Palaps; glad you already took care of it.

For dining, we really enjoyed couple of Marriott restaurants. (We split our trip between Hyatt and Ritz). The beach by Ritz/Marriott is nicer than the one by Hyatt.

Have a great time.

Finally got my invoices for the stay last month. (Yes, really, just the invoices)
Look very carefully at your bill. This place is absurd. They charged us for a hut rental they said was complimentary.
Every single restaurant bill, they've taken the total amount we should have paid after gratuity and then added on both the service charge and the gratuity (I know they've done this because I always round up to a whole number when paying at restaurants, in part so it's obvious when there's a charging error such as this).
Complete silence regarding the unrequested and unwanted "upgrade" to the "premium" suite that's $200/night cheaper (they relisted and sold the one we actually booked)
Charged full rate for one of the nights that should have been with a suite upgrade award.
Have not credited any of the points or displayed the stay in the Hyatt app, which was used to book the rooms.
Complete silence on the overcharged deposits.

As a casino, I'm assuming 4 PM checkout isn't guaranteed for Globalists? If so, what does the hotel typically offer?

Are resort fees charged to Globalists on cash or award stays?

I have young kids (youngest is 7) and need to keep an eye on them if there are waves. We're going in July, so all I could see where the may prices, would it get cheaper or more expensive in July?

Also, anything else we should be pre booking? The kids would probably enjoy some light snorkeling and some sort of boat trip.
cant see kids in the ocean from the back row. Challenge is that some of palapas (#5 for example) are in front of the no ocean swimming lane that is reserved from boats. So the kids could be very far in the ocean from a specific palapa

Finishing up a 7 night stay as a globalist and everything was ok. Nothing that was terrible but just better Hyatt properties out there that provide better globalist benefits.
  • Booked 1 night on 1-7 cat stay and rest on cash. They split up our reservation.
  • 1st two nights in a room that my 11 year old said looked like a room at Alcatraz. Literally one window that was probably 3x1 foot. Just very dark and dingy (#361). Front desk said they were at capacity and take it or leave it. My concerige said it was up to the front desk.
  • final 5 nights in a nice 2 queen room with a sliding glass door for fresh air and a nice breeze
  • we were talking to another couple at the bar and they mentioned their 4 free drinks as globalist. We never received those and the front desk pushed back when we asked why we didn’t receive
Things that were very positive
  • Great pool and water slide. It’s the middle of spring break, hotel was at capacity but never felt like it
  • Ruinas Del Mar is a very reasonably priced meal.
  • Beach a few steps away and can reserve papaya / shade in advance. Water smells like dead fish. Not sure if just bad or always like that.
  • Club offers local beer and house wine from 5p-7p
  • Breakfast was solid

Not understanding all the comments about breakfast being great or solid. Literal worst in the world of all hotels of all categories.

HR Aruba Globalist Breakfast (served at the club only, restaurant is paid) was the worst of all Hyatts I've stayed at (excluding Hyatt Places, but ironically HP Aruba is still way better). No eggs besides boiled, ..... never in the entire world have I seen this. Super weak offering. This hotel uses globalist sacrificial club where they can serve you terrible breakfast to save from restaurant offering. I don't remember well since the offering was so bad, but it barely acknowledges the terms of what globalist entitled to continental breakfast but I don't recall boiled egg ever found anywhere to be continental breakfast. The Palm restaurant buffet was what it should have been.

We tried non-buffet breakfast at the Palm Restaurant the next day, secretly hoping it like many of the Hyatts would comp breakfast at restaurant despite club offering, but it was not included. Just testing this, I did clarify at check in so no surprise. For breakfast, food and service was also terrible at the Palm. You're better literally anywhere else. Go out of the hotel area's roundabout to the other side and immediately find much much better quality food and service for 1/2 the price. Our waitress was lacking in service, ordering took a while to be taken despite moments of inaction, asked for cream for our bevs like twice and still never came, food came 30min+ later, honestly when we sat was just after peak time. Food quality was sloppy and bad. I could have had better quality offering, and presentation put it together at the buffet. I would expect alacarte to be superior.

Breakfast at the Club, also what's up with the plates, these are the only ones, same as the hors d'oeuvreplates in the evening. No room for anything, any food hung out of the plates. As planned I guess they dgaf about globalist.

Globalist Breakfast at the Club, No eggs except boiled, food hung off the plate because no care for plates. Just repulse you to GET OUT.

Free breakfast for all at HP Aruba

HP Aruba Breakfast, free for all

I honestly weigh breakfast at hotels a ton because it's something I look forward to alot. It is literally the worst at HR Aruba of all hotels I've stayed in the world, and they were charging about $1k a night LOL.

Quick comments about the hotel:
  • evening at the club is good, club manager? is nice to some, weird to us (kept asking for my room number, yeah she forgot the first time I told her, I opened the door with my grey wristband, I gave you my number the first time, that's your bad, just let it go, I'm trying that hard to steal from you as you imply). Told my wife to cover up, despite others not told. It's revealing if you try to look, not a string bikini or anything like that some cleavage, some leg. Dude it's a beach resort lol, not Grand Hyatt Tokyo.
  • low season but still asking $6-700 minimum a night for base room, but priced equivalently, time and season, is the same if not more than HR Maui feels weird and too much.
  • activities were great, make sure you sign up ahead of time and show up ON TIME, unfilled seats will be given to stand by. Augie isssss cooool very positive of the hotel.
