Booking a room on points, deciding if I should rebook and pay the extra points for the cayena suite (3rd floor). We’ll be bringing our 5 month old do the extra room and space would probably be appreciated. Also would give us the balcony to hang out on.
Do they usually offer cash upgrades if I keep the standard room?

It’s not available now but I’ll keep an eye out for it. I grabbed the cayena suite for now. How did you like being there with a kid? We pretty much plan on just renting a beach/family pool umbrella everyday. Is it an easy walk to restaurants with a stroller? Did you request a crib? Thanks!

There is an area pretty much right across the street with about 5 restaurants (I think all owned by the same group). Definitely tourist restaurants and not Aruban food, but we enjoyed the food for the most part and they were very convenient and easily walkable with a stroller. There are more restaurants not super far also that are also walkable.

Im looking to book 7 nights in July. I'm new to hyatt points thing and was just going to do the standard room in the 3rd floor. That seems to give me 1.7 cpp if I am not mistaken. That seems kinda of low for hyatt and after some research here I am wondering if I should book a suite instead? I don't have a hyatt credit card, but I can get one if that would yield me a nice room upgrade or something worthwhile. I've never been to this property or any hyatt so not sure what to expect. A suite is probably better points redemption value but its still more points spent. We're used to standard rooms so not sure the upgrade is worth it. We do enjoy eating in our rooms to save money, so it would be nice to have a dining table. An ocean view would be amazing as we don't do these kinds of trips often but I don't think you can get those with points.
The other question I have is about renting beach umbrellas. I know I have to do it ahead of time but wanted to know if its refundable? Booking so far in advance means that my plans might change and so I booked a refundable flight. So would be great to also have the beach rentals be refundable as well.
Other than that, i've learned that I can get a cab ride from airport easily for $30 or so and just wanted to confirm that I don't need any pre arranged transportation to and from the airport.

Already sold out for Christmas 2024? (Cash or points)
I had been checking on the Hyatt Regency Aruba as the 13 month booking window for dates around next Christmas approached. But now that the booking window is fully open, there’s nothing. No points and no cash options. It says “hotel not available” and just lists the Hyatt Place Aruba Airport as the only Hyatt option available in Aruba.
is it possible this hotel totally sells out at the 13 month mark? I’ve tried individual dates and date ranges between one the 21st and 27th of December for 2024.

I tried booking a Christmas/New Years trip here a few years ago and ran into the same issue.
I was told they have so many year over year repeat guests that they block availability for those guests and later release if those guests choose not to return.
As I recall I checked fairly frequently and it was summer before anything became available, and there weren't many options.

Delayed response, but there's no issue with this.

Looking to book a points reservation for four nights June 2024. Only points+cash is coming up and I am checking every day. Is this normal for this property, or is there perhaps a history of points-only becoming available? Thank you.

There's also a family suite (48k/night) available 4 nights in a row starting June 22.

There has to be a base room available. There is a base room June 23 for 3 nights (2 queens). Then a base king on June 26. Then a base 2 queen on June 27. So you could redeem points for all 5 of those nights in a row and haggle w/ the property separately to keep you in the same room.
There's also a family suite (48k/night) available 4 nights in a row starting June 22.
