After selecting my hotel and rate, I am on the final confirmation page. In the beginning there is a choice of logging in as a Hyatt GP member. Doing so results in landing on the account overview with no way back to the confirmation page. One has to start all over again to finish the reservation.

Logging in on the top right corner however results in staying on the confirmation page and I can type in my credit card details and I am done.

The other workaround is logging in before starting the reservation process.

Would be good to fix that as this might cause a lot of GP members a lot of inconvenience when booking online.

Is this going to be fixed? the old Hyatt site didn't do this.

updating profile

Bill,

sorry to add to your list, but I am currently unable to update my profile. Keep getting a 'Please enter a valid phone number' message, even though I have entered it in exactly the format given as a sample ('44' in the country code box, then '123 456 1234' in the number box.)

:td:

Bill from E-commerce here. Sorry for my slow reply, my notification that there was a new post didn't work for some reason.

With regards to this comments regarding the Gold Passport bonus offers, I've seen that a number of people have commented on this. One of our goals with the update was to make the special offers section more usable by cleaning up the interface and providing a single location for offers, rather than having to look at Hyatt.com and then at GP.com. We also made the search capability much more prominent (it used to be at the bottom of the special offers page and received little usage). In addition, we took a look at other loyalty programs and, in particular, the way Marriott implemented this.

I see what you mean about other hotel companies implementing this same interface to find offers. I rarely stay at non-Hyatt properties, but recently made a booking at starwood, and I see that they too also have the same interface to find special offers. However, at SPG.com, it's even more annoying because the furthest level down you can go is the state level. So I had to pore through all offers for the entire state of Texas, when all I'm interested in is Dallas.

I think a simple list showing everything would be much simpler and easier to use.

website down yet again, and we've lost the branded outage page:

really shockingly bad IT.

The offers display is a joke now and basically not usable. If the goal is for people NOT to use offers then 100% success there as I don't bother trying to find any now and this can impact hotel choice. Listen up Hyatt! Oh, and yes the website is totally down - that must cost a fortune in lost bookings!

FriendlySkies Nov 17, 2010 3:13 pm

The website is down, once again...

I had mentioned this before, and it repeated again right now:

Right now, using FF 3.6.12 on my Mac I get

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

I switch to Safari on same machine and it works. Tried Chrome, works as well. Then cleared all my Hyatt-related cookies on FF and tried it again with Firefox -- works! Maybe it's just a timing question, or maybe it is related to the cookies. In any case, I am logged in now on three browsers :)

FriendlySkies Nov 18, 2010 12:53 pm

I am also using FF 3.6.12 on my mac. Hyatt.com is now working for me, although the response time is a bit slow..

Bill, any idea why you are having so many website issues?

How can anyone take a company seriously that can't keep their website operational on a weekday during US business hours?

I'll be pondering that question while enjoying the Grand Suite upgrade at the GH Berlin next week. The free bar might help me come up with an answer. Stay tuned :D

Also, logged into my GP account last night and found showing no active reservations, in spite of having 8.
When I tried to put my number in on an existing reservation it said reservation no longer active. Then I logged on 5 minutes later and all my reservations were intact...

Website is seriously messed up and the new interface is so much more painful

holtju2 Nov 19, 2010 10:02 am

They really should fire the idiots running the website. Even the United.bomb is more reliable nowadays that Hyatt.com.

Using Firefox:

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Using Internet Exploder

the main page opens up when trying to check out rates:
