A couple nights ago, I stayed at Hilton Puckrup in Tewkesbury, UK, and got an upgrade from lowly king room to queen room with balcony. Fantastic breakfast, probably the best I've ever had in any one of the Hilton hotels.

Hilton Bentley Miami/South Beach: A 5-night stay. Booked 1 King Dlx Studio City View Balcony. Asked for upgrade via the app and was told all suites were sold out and was given a higher floor unit (top floor, 10th). Upon check-in, asked again and was upgraded to suite, 1 King 1 Bedroom Suite City / Courtyard View (5th floor, facing to another building, basically no view).

I booked the basic villa at the Conrad Koh Samui. I booked 7 nights -one AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts, one using my free night through my Aspire card, and 5 using points. I was entitled to a villa in the 100s, and I got villa 310- one of the five villas with the best views. I had a superb view of the Five Islands with a great sunset view as well. I could not have been happier!

My wife and I got the same.
Our stay was seven nights on points, upgraded from base room to king suite.
Suite was great, servicing of room a bit patchy.

I've stayed at this hotel maybe 7 or 8 times and have always received an upgrade to a suite.

The space is nice (albeit the decor is a little tired) and why are the sofas so low to the floor?

DoubleTree Dubai M Square

Booked a King Deluxe Room w/ Skyline View for 2 nights at 20,000 points / night (Premium Room Reward).

For some reason this was cheaper than the King Room (Standard Room Reward) which was 24,000 points / night.

Upgraded the day before check-in to a Panoramic 1 Bedroom Suite.

Waldorf Astoria Caledonian, Edinburgh Booked a regular queen room , upgraded to Premier King Room – not a castle view, but a city and hills and Firth of Forth view (three big opening windows facing NW and SW).

It was 95000 points, but it's a wonderful room and the staff are lovely – especially to our dog who seems to be quite a star.
