Offer valid for stays completed between October 1 and December 31, 2011 ("Promotion Period"). Hilton HHonors™ members must first register at HHonors.com/FastWays prior to check-in of your stay within the Promotion Period.
If you check-out on October 6, this should qualify as your stay is completed within the promotion period. It makes me wonder if you check-out on October 1 (as I will be doing), whether this would qualify as well.

Hmm.
I just booked 8 stays this evening (one-nighters - I travel light ), which will bring my normally-scheduled travel screeching to a year-halt on December 27th. Two free nights. Man, last year I had a ton of Q3FN certs, don't know if it might have been better to go points. I started to add up the math on whether it would be better to go Double Points, but then shiny things distracted me and I got bored and went for the nights.
Bird in the hand and all that.
Hilton can feel satisfied that I cancelled two HIx-Priority Club stays I had booked this morning before I saw this Flyertalk thread. See, guys? Working already. Keep it up.

From FAQ:
Where can HHonors members use their Free Night certificate?
Certificates can be redeemed for use at any of our 3700+ Hilton Worldwide properties, at all brands, however the HHonors member must book their room in advance, make the reservation through Hilton Reservations and Customer Care (HRCC), and complete the stay prior to the certificate expiration.
From fine print on the promotion page:
The free night certificate is valid at participating hotels in the Hilton Worldwide portfolio for 6 months after the date of issuance, as noted on the certificate.

The word "participating" in your second quote is very troubling. We need clarification from Hilton on this.

I have 8 reservations at different properties I made before the promo. Do I need t cancel these reservations and make them again or will I get the promo for theses reservations since I signed up for it?

The 6 months rather than 12 is a bummer....really liked having the extra time to coordinate kiddie school schedule about a fun, much less expensive vacation. With most of the SFO airport hotels opting out, debatable that I would be able to accumulate a decent number of certs anyway so I may use 4Q to secure my gold in Marriott.

I'm pretty sure it favors whichever occurs first and the remaining nights are moved to the next bonus.

This promo will serve its purpose
I just want to say that I believe this promo is going to bring Hilton some incremental business, which is exactly what this type of promo is supposed to do. My wife is one stay away from Diamond, and it was her intention to devote most of her fourth-quarter efforts to Priority Club. No more! Marriott cut the legs out from under her with its VISA card requirement. So Hilton it is.
From my blog:
My wife will have at least eight Hilton stays during the promotion period, and perhaps even 12. So it looks like we get a Spring Break vacation for sure this year.
I wish the certificates didn't expire quite so quickly, and that the expiration ran from the end of the promotion instead of from when they were earned. But free is free. Thanks, Hilton!
From my blog:
Marriott has a Megabonus promotion that has some merit, but it is only valid if you pay for your room with a VISA card. Most business people use AMEX, so the Marriott promotion is pretty worthless. Priority Club has a promotion I reported on August 28 that offers 2,000 bonus points per night for members who stay in four different brands, for example, Holiday Inn, HI Express, Intercontinental and Hotel Indigo. It was a good enough promotion that Jinny was planning to move a bit of her business to Priority Club for the fourth quarter. It looks like she'll be coming back to Hilton, although I do think she'll try to stay at four Priority Club brands just to maximize her points on stays that she does have with them.

Stay 1 - 1 night
Stay 2 - 1 night
Stay 3 - 1 night
Stay 4 - 14 nights
Stay 5 - 3 nights
Do you get 1 or 2 certs? it depends on whether they reset the number upon you qualifing for a free night cert.
Had to re-think this. You'd hit 10 nights midway through the 4th stay earning the first cert. Then you'd earn the second after the completion of stay 5 when you'd hit 10 nights again.
I'm pretty sure it favors whichever occurs first and the remaining nights are moved to the next bonus.

The question is, do they reset the number here?
If no, then you will get your next free night when you hit 8th stay or 20 nights, whichever comes first.
If yes, then you need another 4 stays or 10 nights for your next free night, even though you already got 17 nigths in your first 4 stays.
Here is another case:
stay 1 - 1 night
stay 2 - 1 night
stay 3 - 1 night
stay 4 - 1 night ---> 1 free night upon 4th stay, reset here?
stay 5 - 10 night ---> if reset, you get 2nd free night, if not reset, you need another 3 stays or 6 nights for your 2nd free night.
