Without dragging the thread too OT I noticed a few posts stating they got a Platinum upgrade. I am using the Plat Amex and have the CDP entered into my Hertz account, does that mean its "Platinum" too thats in addition to Five Star, is that better? But Presidents Circle beats Platinum right?

Presidents Circle
Reserved: D6 - Nissan Leaf (cheapest thing on the lot for a one-day status run)
Given and took: E - Audi A1 automatic.
Reasonable power in a small car with good economy too, well equipped, and nice handling. Only thing is that if I'd booked an E (which is given as a Focus automatic) and was given this, I'd be disappointed because there is no space whatsoever behind me (and I'm only 6'0"). Great car otherwise.

Platinum Amex does not equal Hertz Platinum
Hertz Platinum > Hertz Pres Circle

Pres Circle
Booked: C (Focus or equivalent)
Received: Jeep Renegade
Assumed that this was some form of (Pres circle?) upgrade. But no, the car was tagged a C, which was something of a surprise.

Sadly not. This was a local reservation, based on a forecast of a weekend of lovely sunny weather (which turned out to be 100% wrong!) and the Winter Sale tempting me to try something from the UK Fleet for once. The Renegade was that bright orange, so I got a few pics despite the drizzle and gloom.
This one was a 1.4 MultiAir with manual gearbox, which was an interesting contrast with the 2.0 MultiJet (diesel) automatic I had in Bologna a few weeks ago. The petrol one is much more refined and the gearchange is very precise. It was no less economical, either, so that would be the one to pick.
Fuller report to come in due course (there's a back log still to finish and publish).

Presidents Circle
Reserved: C - Opel Astra or similar
Offered and took: F - Mercedes CLA 180 diesel - great car actually, though manual gearbox and no nav is unusual on a Mercedes!

Last few weeks I had a B200 Sport all extras was nice and as it was a 14 plate i was to keep until summer, seems at one point someone changed clock to km from miles, they realised it was on 9k and not 17k and now it was blocked as sold.
Anyway had to swap, went to airport and swapped to Volvo XC70 D5, could have had a Volvo V60, V70, Any Nissan or Renault, is an estate but has all the little tricks, like the adaptive cruise with full auto break, good to drive on motorway and with fuel prices as are, 70 litre tank is not that expensive any more
