Thanks very much for this -- exactly what I was hoping to hear. We'll do the same with our MB confirmations once we have our dates firmed up.

I wonder if the election call will mean further delays to the Canadian vaccine certificate?

I've had the app for a few days and do not see any way to put it on my Watch3.

[Edited to Add:] The app did not update automatically and did not show up as needing an update in the App Store. However, when looking up the app in the App Store, I found an "update" button above the listing. The app is now supposedly on my watch but says I need to add a certificate on my phone which has been there for a week.

Off topic, which is the higher quality store. Lafayette Gourmet or Grande Epicerie?

Looks like they updates the dates on the website:
https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/co...-procedure-for

From 15 August, this system is open to non-EU tourists who are already in France or who will arrive on or before 18 August. Requests concerning subsequent arrivals at will be processed at a later date.

you need to add your certificate as a favorite in the app on the phone and this is how it will appear on the watch.

Off topic indeed, but since you ask... :) I'd say both are pretty similar. I go to the Grande Épicerie more often because it's closer to home, but Lafayette Gourmet is also good. Prices are also on the same bracket most of the time (i.e., expensive for everyday groceries, but fairly ok if you are looking for something more gourmet or specific).

I think the key updates for people on this thread are these:

When will I receive my QR code?

We receive a large number of requests. Applications will be processed as quickly as possible. There is no need to contact us to check on progress, as this may delay the process.

I have not yet received my QR code for the vaccine certificate of equivalence and I need it to travel within France or to visit certain locations (museums, entertainment venues, restaurants, etc.), what can I do?

A temporary QR code can also be generated by a healthcare professional following a negative
RT-PCR or antigen test taken within the last 72 hours.

How long will the application take?

We are doing our utmost to process applications as quickly as possible.

Well, I got my vaccination QR code today. Actually, this afternoon I went to get a 2nd test so that I could use the pass, then decided I would re-send my documents for the vaccination certificate; except this time I used the French form and entered the data more nicely formatted (the English form had some formatting issues), and also rescanned my passport. I also used the newer Subject line form, including my date of entry into France.

So I received the test results and QR code for that, and about 30 minutes later (a couple of hours after I sent in the cleaned-up forms/documents for the vaccination) I received the vaccination QR code.

I’m not sure if re-sending the documents in a cleaned up form and with a date in the subject line made any difference and if I would have gotten the code today anyway, or not. But I got it. Lesson learned might be “use the French form, fill it out nicely, make sure the passport photo is perfect, and have the date of entry in France in the Subject line as requested”.

Happy for you! Just to confirm, you're saying you re-applied and received your QR code all within the same day today? Makes me think they're not FIFOing the apps and despite the automated appeals to not re-send, your best bet might be to re-submit during Paris business hours every day until you get lucky. Quite the mess.

Another take is that they are prioritizing apps that comply with the instructions (including a correct subject line and not applying if your trip is later than the date they list). From posts here and elsewhere, that has a good chance of being true. It might be possible that they are also prioritizing apps with a French language form, but I haven't seen other evidence of that.

From what I've seen, many people do not comply carefully with the instructions.

Adding another data point. Applied for an extended family member this morning (last minute trip to FR). QR code came back within 6mins. Did I win a prize?

Nothing out of the ordinary. English form with the required docs much like my own application.

YMMV but feel free to ask any questions.

While anecdotes make not a rule, I can say this has not been my experience. I submitted my paperwork with proper labeling and correct subject line a week ago and have yet to receive anything. My arrival date was the 13th, so I would have fit all of these categories you reference.

But really, the mechanisms are a black box to me. So who knows. 🤷‍♂️

Yep. There does seem to be an element of luck involved.

BTW, the tripadvisor France forum has many posts on the subject.

Yes, that's what I did. I can't say for sure what made the difference, or if they would have responded today anyway, even if I hadn't resent the forms.

All I CAN say is that I used the French language form (which had fewer formatting issues than the English language one), and added my arrival date to the subject line. I also included some text in my letter saying why I was resubmitting (better formatting, better Subject line, etc). Hard to say what actually happened. Probably worth a try if you want to do it, I guess!
