While not strictly AY, POR will have 3 daily flights to HEL and 2 dailies to ARN from 24/April. Operated by 2N (Nextjet) - costs to Pori taxpayers is 3,5m€ over 2 years

Perhaps there will be an AY code for the flights to HEL. The AY booking engine has again POR, even if it so far offers no flights to that destination.

It would make a whole lot of sense, starting from thru-checking luggage to AY+ points

Has SGN been axed? I don't find any direct flights for next October.

Looks like it. Unfortunately also the codeshare with VN seems to have been short-lived, as only AY codes to Vietnam after this ending schedule period seem to be CX and 3K, CX being mostly really expensive and 3K only SGN to SIN

If AY is really quitting Vietnam, it is a pity, as it is very fast growing economy and also perfect holiday destination. On the other hand, flying there only once a week doesn't attract business travellers and even that sole flight being mid-week isn't good for most of leisure travellers either, so if SGN hasn't turned out profitable, they can just take a good look at mirror at AY HQ.

Yep, plus LZO in another 3 weeks or so.
And let's not forget LWH expected before April Fools' day.

Now AB's 32B's are almost ready to leave. Is it 25MAR17 last operations?

AB will continue until end of April.
And AY will have ~2200 additional seats/day to sell in about 1 month period, more to follow during spring and summer plus the plans to refurbish current 319,320 and 321 fleets with additional 6-12 seats per airplane.

And the outcome is here:

"This is an URGENT requirement for pilots to start in MAY / JUNE 2017! "

Looks like AY has their expansion strategy planned well in advance.

It looks like HEL-UME weekday services have been cancelled for the whole summer (23/06-20/08).

That's really a pity as the AB short haul birds and crew are much better quality than AY itself can offer.

I'm in no position to compare AY vs AB flight crews but at least the cabin crew has been all-AY. Maybe not from the very beginning of the lease, but most of it in any case.

The only thing better with the AB planes are the USB power ports. Otherwise it's worse, the leather seats are just terrible.
