But otherwise HNL, pretty please
And while planes are grounded re-configure some with a 4 seat F cabin.

What makes AY 333 a sardine can ?

l believe what was referred to here was those hideous B757s which were also in use on the YYZ route (as said, many moons ago). 😉

So if many idle planes, why doesnt AY HQ already call us for a AY FT meeting, naturally onboard A359 to HNL with plenty of time to workshop in real life some customer experience and feedback?
I am serious.

That would certainly make some headlines. I agree 100%, it would be great publicity stunt during these times and would go viral instantly.

”As other airlines are cancelling flights Finnair put their idle fleet in use and took 200 of their Lumotic super-hyper-top-tiers to Honolulu for a long weekend to gather customer feedback”

AY used to fly 757s to YYZ and BOS. I believe YYZ made a stop in BGR. They even marketed BGR for at least one season, fishing etc.

They had a North American 757 service via ARN, too. To BOS?

But long before that, AY used to fly MD-11s to YYZ. Maybe also DC-10?

Somehow I have a faint recollection of A300B4 service to YYZ, too, after those Karair livery planes were repainted as AY planes. But I could be wrong here.

Did they really fly A333 there, too? If so, then that was pretty recent.

Oh I loved those planes, my first ever AY long haul was with D10 to Florida in the 80’s - half of the plane was full of cigarette smoke and service in Y was almost like in J today ☺️

757 YYZ was nonstop. And Summer 2014 and 2015 it was A333.

Yields should be very different during the summer months. Many passengers would probably chose rerouting/date change instead of refund even if extra frequencies to LAX were cancelled...

AY DC-10, MD-11 and A330 have served YYZ, according to the Airlines.net photo archive. A330 was used in S14 and S15. Their B757 tortured passengers on YYZ route for years, regurlarly in summers 2004-2013, first photos from year 2000.

BOS was served via Skavsta with B757, atleast in S05.

What was the longest route they had with the 757, anyone remember? I only flew on those when last minute substitutions were made on scheduled flights with sudden high demand and a free guinea pig cage found from somewhere at Vantaa..CPH and BCN come to mind..2005/6/7 something like that..horrible config.

About the longest ones, a friend of mine flew to some holiday dest. in Brazil via the Canaries, I recall, and he was absolutely pissed off with it, described it as ”unhuman experience”. Can imagine as BCN-HEL was total hell as well and that was only 4 hrs..

I've done HEL-HKT twice on 757, once via DXB and once via JAI, that's about 5900 miles. If my memory serves me correct, AY also did similar rotations to SGN in early 2000's, but I'm not 100% sure about this. If so, I guess that would be the longest route they used 757's. And once I did HEL-BGR-POP on 757, but that's "only" 5465 miles on great circle route.

On which route did they stop at BGR?
