Waitlistrules?
I just wonder what rules will be in place for waitlists with points done before 1st of June but clear after.
|
Probably Topi hasn't even thought about it.

I would claim that as you have paid already (they deduct the 50k immediately when you make the request), they will not charge an extra 10k separately, But who knows.
A very long time ago, North American upgrades were 35k and then the price went up to 50k. I was waitlisted for 35k during the price hike, and had my upgrade gone through, it would still have been only 35k. But those were different times, times of integrity. |

Two agents on the lumo line today stated that waitlisted flights would ticket with the rules in place when waitlisted so perhaps there is hope

A few examples:
DXB, J award: 1.1.2022: 50 000 points + 45 EUR 1.1.2023: 160 000 points + 45 EUR 15.6.2023: 190 000 points + 125 EUR Europe, Y award: 1.1.2023: 30 000 points + 40 EUR* 15.6.2023: 40 000 points + 70 EUR* Longhaul, J award: 1.1.2023: 160 000 points + 40 EUR* 15.6.2023: 190 000 points + 280 EUR* *) based on an approximation of 40 EUR taxes for a return ticket, some destinations are cheaper, others more expensive I used to value AY+ points at 8 EUR / 1000 points. I haven't really thought about their value after 15th June, but using this value, we get: DXB, J award: 1.1.2022: 445 EUR 1.1.2023: 1325 EUR 15.6.2023: 1645 EUR Europe, Y award: 1.1.2023: 280 EUR* 15.6.2023: 390 EUR* Longhaul, J award: 1.1.2023: 1320 EUR* 15.6.2023: 1800 EUR* Longhaul, upgrade from Y to J: 1.1.2023: 400 EUR (50 000 points) 15.6.2023: 480 EUR (60 000 points) |

This carryon allowance is just a mess with this level of IT.
I have 2 LH J flights booked, until this morning their allowance stayed like before, (10kg 32kg). Now this morning other has changed to 8kg and 23kg on app, but 8kg and 32kg on web. Other flight remained like before. I mean, it is hard to do something proper on a budget, but please. |
My genuine J flights stayed at 10kg, my upgrades went to 8kg. 32kg stayed for both cases. Data points from iOS app.

I just checked prices for HEL-LHR and they are exactly the same as yesterday evening. Only difference is that you get less luggage. So, definitely a price increase as suspected.
|
And extravaganzasuperlight is 50% points.

However I hope and believe that at some point the flight prices will come down. If demand stays strong, the industry will eventually increase capacity (but it will take some time, as it requires new planes to be delivered). Then the value of points will decrease and I'm afraid it will go well below 0,8 c / point. |
