I bought a shorthaul reward ticket as Silver in May, including two checked bags at that time. Unfortunately my Silver period is just ending 3 weeks before the trip and I am planning to take a golf bag with me (+ the free "award" checked bag). I assume the Silver benefit is gone at the time of travel (?) but I can of course buy an extra bag now as silver for -50% and take the golf bag as the "award" bag - as sports equipment were still allowed at that time. But would there be a possibility that Silver is still honored (two checked bags in total) if I just check in with my ticket bought as Silver? Not much money or points on stake here but maybe worth a try? As Finnair tightens everything I might try the same........

If your silver is expired at the time of travel no silver benefits will apply at all, unless you mean you are still in your grace period where silver is indeed still valid? Status benefits are based on time or travel status validity |

Saw a finnair communication this morning that long haul AY business class classic and flex tickets issued today or later have their allowance updated to 2x32KG. This was a short-lived "enhancement". I should have posted it here first instead of höpö höpö. Although these back-and-forth changes are really höpö höpö!
