Well, you could interpret it that way, we have a very long thread here of people stressing out poor Kauppias by these interpretations, but the word "valvonta" means enforcement, i.e. they explicitly say enforcement will stay the same, whereas a more logical way to say what you are saying would be to say the rules are the same as before. I'm not saying your interpretation is entirely impossible (=that whoever gave that comment might not have thought about wording or knows about policy implementation), but it's the same kind of doomsterism that led to another thread of "I quit Finnair" based on an amount of cases of enforcement that can be counted on one hand.

They are memorable, don't worry! Hopefully to you too!

I dont stress these changes they simply annoy me. What I said was stressfull would be the situation where one would have no certainty if their bags are policed or not, but again for me not the end of the world as I dont have to travel on any specific route or airline so I can choose whats the best value for money. I can fit my laptop in my jacket pocket and so on, but alot of people travel for work where they need to take certain stuff on.

But no point in rehashing all this again, as I am sure you will find more to comment on the same issue soonish anyways.

Sorry to dissappoint but the only memorable posts on FT that stick to my mind are in the premium fares section and even those I forget after I book them 😀😀

Booked 241 PE. The 241 award is valid on Y and PE if you can find 2 open awards

I've read about this somewhere and thought that must've been a mistake. Great if it's possible to use 2-4-1 for PE seats as well!

LHR today 1.6 no change in previous policy. People carrying all sorts of stuff, overhead lockers as full as usually and full flight. Only change was the announcements.

i highly doubt anyone on that flight would have a ticket under the new rules, check back in 1-2 months time and see if the policy has come into effect.

The rules on baggage dimensions and weight have not changed for any passengers now that business class got their 10kg allowance back. There are no "new rules" for hand baggage, just a new ticket type that does not include any overhead baggage.

It seems that the unofficial silver benefit of free place selection on day before check in is gone. That is a shame. It makes silver way less usefull, and that was also a benefit which didn't cost a penny to Finnair. I don't really get why Finnair is trying to make flight experience as worse as possible. That was previously reserved for LCCs.

Also a good way to dump a voucher that would otherwise be rotting on a waitlist that never clears.
241 PE is great value.

Sorry for the stupid question, but what is 241?

2 tickets for the price of 1 so 2 for 1 so 241 short :)

You can book 2 award tickets with 4 european shorthaul vou hers (or 1 lh) and points so 2 longhaul Y tickets for 90000 points as of now or 2 in PE for 120000 points and taxes/fees. Instead of 180000 or 240000 respectively

Check the travel class upgrade section on SH for Golds and higher

I'll get to experience the "no change in seating for you!" policy on Tuesday but so far most of my bookings have followed the "always window if possible" preference I have set on the Finnair app so it's not a catastrophe. The sole exception is HEL-LHR-HEL in July where both flights are on E seats but let's see...

Anybody got re-seated due to this seating change policy so far?

So do I understand this correctly:

You can:

Use 4 SH vouchers and 120000 points and in return get a LH return trip in Premium Economy for two people?

This should pretty much only affect OWR‘s and non-status holders on Light or Classic tickets. So barely anyone here.
