Lately my attempts to pre-order have lead to a vicious circle - give the name and reservation code - my reservation - give the name and reservation code... How to do it properly nowadays (flying to ORD and back soon)?

This has worked for me when logged in and going to the pre-order from my reservations. I think I did it just over a week ago for HEL-ORD.

I have an upcoming HEL-BKK in October and I would love to get some advises regarding the (preorder) meals;

Has anyone tried these menu's by Sasu Laukkanen? Are these menus served on the BKK-route?

I will try the osso bucco next month. I'll try to remember to let you know what it was like.

I had the arctic char recently.
Tastes better than it looks and I know there are many that may feel sick, but you can even eat the skin since it's heavily fried. Yummy!
The soup was decent as well.
Osso Bucco and quinoa can be a heavy choice and I am not a fan of veal meals. A matter of taste after all.

Apparently this new menu has just been published (27 sept onward).

Any recommendations, what should I try and what to avoid?

Option 3
Pasta filled with veal and chanterelles, savoy cabbage

When departing from Helsinki, you can also order one of the following main courses:

Food Lover´s Treat

Grilled whitefish with carrot puree
- Asparagus
- Poached spinach
- Zucchini

BKK-HEL menu doesn't sound nearly as yummy as on the outbound flight

Lunch

Option 1
Grilled chicken breast in chicken gravy, grilled bell peppers and snow peas, potato gratin

Option 2
Stir fried sliced beef tenderloin au jus with chili and basil, vegetable bouquet and steamed rice

Option 3
Mushroom ravioli with tomato concasse sauce

I really liked the overcooked reindeer. Overcooked means really tender in this case.

+1 for the reindeer, providing you are not a herbivore.

Return meals ex Asia are very often chicken/rise/beef or pasta.

Well, my both my pre-orders didn't arrive on AY81 and AY82 recently.

I complained and was rewarded with a paltry 100€ voucher.

Option 2 BKK-HEL was far too spicy for my taste. Avoid it if spicy food isn't your cup of tea.

The word "chili" was the only reason I wanted to have it

It has been the same menu for at least a year from BKK to HEL flights. I wish Finnair would change it as I fly route 5 times year. Stir fried beef is my choice but it is really spicy !
