! My cert. is now there with expiry of 16 Oct 2018 
! I became a new Cardmember on 16 Jan. 2017, so this was my first year. I spent > $12K before Aug. 14. I sent 7K to Marriott (I know, not so good value) on Sep. 1 for an immediate redemption. Now I have 17K CSP points which I will probably send to Hyatt &or KrisFlyer someday.

Why do some get Feb expiration while others get Oct expiration?
Mine is Feb expiration too (got it from the 6K spending)
Was hoping to use it for April travel. Any chance to "appeal" for extension?

I spent more than $12,000 but only received the February 2018 expiration date.

This was all spelled out in the letter sent from Chase/Fairmont; however, folks were making inaccurate assumptions. Plus they were receiving contradictory information when calling Chase and Fairmont. The letter is what individuals should have gone by.

If you spent $12K since your last anniversary, and prior to the August deadline, your certificate expiration should be October of 2018. I would double check your spending history and contact Chase.
