These up grades offers are a bit of a rip off ...

I will fly CDG-AUH-BKK-CGK-AUH-CDG.

The cheapest upgrade would be :

- CDG-AUH : 675 euros
- AUH-BKK : 420 euros
- CGK-AUH : 395 euros

Considering I have paid 700 euros for my ticket economy class, upgrading on all 4 segments makes it 2865 euros .... when the current fare business class is 2600 euros.

The good thing is that one can upgrade on just one or 2 segments ... but its no bargain really !

Hi All,

I was offered a paid upgrade AUH-LHR from J to F, which I did not bid on. But upon scanning my boarding pass, I was offered an op-up to first free of charge.

Looked like the AUH-LHR was oversold in business class or that they upgraded an overbooked coach to business and then myself to first.

I am an EY gold member.

Cheers,

Timo

Good to hear ! Do you automatically receive e-mails just before your flight about bidding - I'm flying next week and nothing received so far

Just got an offer for paid upgrade!

BRI-SIN-AUH (16 hours total)

I have a quick question... From Brisbane there are two flights to get to AUH, as the plane stops in Singapore (plane doesn't change, just stops for refuel?)

Would I be able to keep the seat for the entire flight? It only gives me an option for BRI-SIN. It's $500 USD minimum bid on a 16 hour flight so why not?

Is it possible to get an offer for a paid upgrade at checkin if you have a 9W ticket with 9W codeshare flight on EY aircraft? Was hoping I would be able to do so on AUH - JFK on EY101 for which my ticket has a 9W codeshare flight number.

Offered AUH-SYD and MEL-AUH, J-F both at $1250 AUD.

Put in for MEL-AUH as I will be on my own.

My wife and daughter on a separate PNR (they are coming back later) have not received the offer. Perhaps you don't get them if you have a child in the booking?

ETA: Upgrade J to F MEL-AUH for myself accepted.

Wife and daughter also offered the upgrade but for $1285AUD each

Offered:

MAN-AUH minimum bid US$750
AUH-NRT minimum bid US$600

Weird considering the latter segment is longer in duration yet cheaper.

Flying JFK - AUH - JNB in Economy.

Oh yea - screw, I'm going for the max on the offers for each one. What is the product like for them?

Just a tip, PinkUnicorn - see if you can check the loads on your flight using an online tool. In the past, I've successfully upgraded at the minimum allowable amount, and on boarding there was plenty of free seats in the upgraded cabin so I would have felt like a mug paying anything more. I think its possible to go back into their tool and change your offer, if you do it before the deadline.

Havent flown that route with EY , but the business class experience is perfectly acceptable, although I find the IFE offerings sometimes not to my taste.
