Mom is going on her first trip to ME, she was just offered ORD-AUH (13.5hrs) for $1200 - $2000

If it came with chauffeur, I'd do it for her. From what i read, these upgrades don't get chauffeur or lounges? (i couldn't find this in any terms)

From the Etihad website FAQs on Select Upgrades:

What are the benefits for an upgrade from Economy Class to Business Class?

On the segment of the flight that you have been upgraded to, you are eligible to carry 40 kgs.
You can carry additional baggage based on your tier within the Etihad Guest programme.
You are entitled to priority boarding and check-in and have access to our Business Class lounges.
Etihad chauffeur services will not be available for upgrade from Economy Class to Business Class.


What are the benefits for an upgrade from Business Class to First Class?

On the segment of the flight that you have been upgraded to, you are eligible to carry 50 kgs. You can carry additional baggage based on your tier within the Etihad Guest programme.
You are entitled to priority boarding and check-in and have access to our First Class lounges.
All Etihad Guest members and non-Etihad Guest members will get 2 one-way chauffeur-driven transfers to or from the airport. If you are a Silver, Gold or Gold Elite Etihad Guest member, you can enjoy up to 8 chauffeur driven transfers to or from the airport.

Questions to you guys - if your bid has been accepted to the next higher class, which fare does the ticket automatically becomes? From Y to J for instance, do they change the ticket literally to the J bucket fare hence you'll be receiving full J tier points / bonuses etc? What about J to F?
