An update to the gate instant upgrade price level will be helpful.

Plusgrade offering 1100/1150 min for JFK-AUH and AUH-JFK respectively, midweek, march dates.

Obviously, $1400 instant would make bidding a no brainer.

If plusgrade was offering $1,100-$1,150 minimum, then the check-in upgrade should be cheaper, if available. I suspect the $1,400 reflected peak demand pricing, but not sure.

That's my suspicion, thanks. Another options is miles I could transfer in, but there's the risk of orphan miles.

Was flying in C, AUH-GRU-AUH on the 680EUR mistake fare.
I bid 3050AED for F class on AUH-GRU (Minimum was 2950AED). The upgrade went through 5 days before the flight (found it in itinerary by myself, confirmation email received only 24h before the flight).

GRU-AUH - Minimum bid C-->F was starting from 2090AED. I asked for the price at the check-in - they offered upgrades for US$ 1000.

Sorry - made a mistake - on the way back, in the online offer it was 2950, not 2050.
Taking current USD exchange rate, $800 is around the same as 2950AED. (My prices were quoted in AED on both legs, not USD. Only the check-in agent gave the value in USD)

Offered Paid Upgrade SFO-AUH-BOM both ways.

Paid $799 for Economy Return from SFO to BOM.
Was offered Business Class upgrade for minimum $1290 SFO-AUH $160 AUH-BOM and same for return. These are minimum bids.
If I upgrade all legs it comes exactly same amount as regular business class rate quoted on their site with Chauffeur drive lounge access etc.
Makes no sense to upgrade this way.
Anyone offered airport upgrade? Is it cheaper?
I am a big size tall guy and I am worried about leg space. The flight does not look full as of now but prices being so low can never tell!!

First time flyer with Etihad in a couple of weeks time (flying LHR - MNL business and KUL -LHR economy).

Does everyone get an upgrade e-mail, or is it just the chosen few? Does anyone know what the minimum upgrade offers might be?

Most of the time. But not always. My last two flights I didnt get anything, even though J cabin was only half full.

Look at this link http://www.etihad.com/en-gb/before-y...rade-yourself/

it allows you so see whether your booking is eligible for upgrade, and gives you the amounts. Just choose 'select eligibility', and enter your booking reference + surname. good luck!

Thanks for posting. Looks like its $1150 each way from IAD-AUH in September. Anyone have any idea on when this would clear for me if I bid? Is it day before flight or so, or earlier?

Dude, thanks so much - I've been worried about not getting this.

Can someone do a quick flight load check for me? I gave up on flyer expert after Delta dropped it. I put in bids for all of these.
