Upgrade offer accepted @-18hrs
Have been reading the thread and just thought I’d add my experience today flying EY AUH-BKK. I offered just above the minimum bid (around £380) and thought it had been declined as I had not heard anything, but the offer was accepted with around 18hrs to go before the flight.

Upgrade offer accepted @ ~48 hours
Very long time lurker, first time poster as I thought it's about time I contributed. Flying EY407 BKK-AUH on 21 JUL and offered 45,000JPY (approx. 420 USD / 335GBP) to upgrade Y --> J.
My bid was accepted approximately 48 hours before departure. The bid was slightly above minimum (firmly in the red on EY's bid scale online) and I was fully expecting it to be rejected. The acceptance email early this morning took me by surprise. I'm looking forward to getting some sleep on this red-eye

My bids just above minimum in similar price range to yours were excepted AUH-BKK a few hours before departure and BKK-AUH a few days before. Always a risk but turned out well for me on both segments.

Bid just over 2000 AED (545 USD) for EY85 AUH-FCO on 5 July. I bid about 4-5 days before departure and got an e-mail about 3 days before departure saying I had been outbid.
I was invited to place a new bid of 2900-odd AED to be in "first place." I didn't bother. My guess is that bids tend to be higher on the night flights...
Does first place mean winning? Or literally first place? Any idea how many upgrades are available? I don't want to be in first place - I want to be the lowest successful bid!

Sadly my bid of 45,000 JPY (approx. 420 USD / 335 GBP) for EY406 AUH-BKK on 31 JUL was rejected but a seat in "economy space" made the overnight flight quite comfortable. These "economy space" seats will be my new "go to" whenever traveling in EY economy.

I was offered bid upgrades from 50€ up to 170€ on 1:00 hour AirSerbia fligt between Dubrovnik and Belgrade (DBV - BEG). Since I have Lounge Acess card I think is not worth it to pay for upgrade. What do you think?
