Emirates Seating Guide

A380

First:
  1. Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
  2. Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
Business:
  1. General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
  2. Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
  3. Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
Economy:
  1. General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777

First:
  1. Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
  2. Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
Business:
  1. General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
  2. Solo travelers:
  3. Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
Economy:
  1. General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

Welcome to FT!

Well FlightRadar24 lists B773, B772, and B77W. So it's a 50% probability that you'll get suites in F and ICE Digital Widescreen.

The website is really outdated as DYKWIA stated.

I will be travelling on flight EK352 DXB-SIN on Boeing 777-300.

Looking at services on this flight Emirates is advising Deeply reclining sleeperette seats in First and Business Class.....

Does this mean neither are lie flat? and apart from the width and pitch there is no difference in recline?

Is it worth the upgrade to first?

Many thanks
Looking at the a/c operating the flight in the past month or so, it had suites on 17 of the 31 days in August. So is a chance that you may get suites in F.

Unless you get suites in F, I would not recommend upgrading to F. The Lie Flats in J are almost as close to the sky cruisers in F.

If the upgrade is marginal I'd take it. While the skycruisers aren't the best, they are more spacious and go full flat. EK will supply a mattress/duvet to go on top to make it that little bit more comfortable.

Not sure if the mattress has become a standard in J though.

I got them in my recent flights in J - both on 777 and A380.

Seat advice required for Boeing 777-200LR

Hello All,

I am a newbie on here... Have traveled a lot by air and my seat selections till now have been decided by choosing a window seat in the front section of the plane. Recently I came across this website and decided to seek advice of the fellow travelers on here.

I have booked
FRA-DXB-BLR 06.12.14
BLR-DXB-FRA 04.01.15

The flight to and from Dubai is a A380 and the flight to and from Bengaluru is B777-200LR.

Currently I have selected seats in the front of the aircraft - 49K in the A380 and 19K in the Boeing.

Are these seats good enough? I also read an old post that on the B777, it is good to choose the seats 35/36 at the back of the plane which are part of the 2-4-2 combination. Are these the best seats? How are the tv screens aligned for 35A/B as the seats in front are 3-4-3 configuration?

I typically select seats at the front of the plane as well. Less noisy, first ones to be served, lesser chances of running out of your meal selection, and first ones to get off and pass through immigration.

Update, flew 1A on 777-300 in F and was very happy with the choice of seat. First to get served, first on and off of the plane, and in every other way, basically identical to the other seats. Extremely minimal galley noise as the food preparation area is on the opposite side of the aircraft and you don't really hear the toilets as they are a bit further ahead towards the cockpit. Can't speak to traffic to the toilets as we were only 3/8 seats filled with 2 of us on the left side, but can't see that being a problem with the doors closed.

It usually never is even on 8/8 except on ULH flights just before landing when everyone wants to change and use the restrooms.

24b off EK74 just sucked. The side console takes a lot of room and you sleep facing the aisle. Wife had it on the way to Paris and I did for the return. Feels like less privacy and cramped. Just my two Euro cents.

The aisle seats (B, D, G and J) are known to have less space than the others, but Business Class in the A380 hardly sucks. Couples travelling together will normally go for an E, F pair which both have more room.

My preference for A380 J class seating is either A or K...I wouldn't sit in B, D, E, F, G or J unless I had to.

If I was travelling with a companion, I would choose E and F.

I agree. I still feel that the 777 is better if flying as a couple . J on the 380 is better only if you have a A or K seat ( i.e flying alone)

On the contrary, my preference is actually the A380 when flying as a couple as you sit much closer to each other in E/F and can speak without having to bend forward, which is not possible on the 777. And also the 380 when flying solo.

Can anyone share a photo of the deeply reclining sleeperette that is operated on the 777-300 plane. I have a photo in my head of the big old wide sofa seats like in the movie Airplane.......please tell me I am wrong?
