Emirates Seating Guide

A380

First:
  1. Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
  2. Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
Business:
  1. General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
  2. Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
  3. Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
Economy:
  1. General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777

First:
  1. Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
  2. Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
Business:
  1. General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
  2. Solo travelers:
  3. Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
Economy:
  1. General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

Hi, I'm flying SYD-DXB rtn (leave this weekend) on the A380 in Y and can get seats 43H or 45K. Does anyone recommend these or are they no good? I'm seeing mixed reviews.

Also, does anyone know how often EK Gold get bumped from these front row seats in Y because of the bassinet? First flight as EK Gold so haven't had experience before.

Cheers

Metal change on ALG-DXB?

G'day,

One option of flying back to KUL from Europe in Sept '13 is to visit Algiers and leave from there; however, EF's seat map for the 33L (Airbus A330-300) has the following: There was an error message from the airline when trying to retrieve this seat map: EQUIPMENT CHANGE IN PROGRESS.

Could any enlightened FTers shed some light on this?.. a better type J seat would make this option more of a certainty.

Cheers ツ

Lie flat C/J on 773ER - horizontal or slanted?

I'm on a DXB-LAX flight in Dec after it switches from the 772LR to a 773ER with private suites in F (I'm in business ). EK "services on this flight" states that the seats are lie flat, but most of the pictures I have seen of the business seats look like they are flat at an angle.

Does any one what type of business seats this flight has??

The 772LR also has suites in F. They are indeed angled lie flat, and are the same as J on the 77L. I haven't flown J in a while, but I used to prefer the 777 J to the A380. But that's just my opinion. They are very comfortable, even though angled.

I will be on EK384 and EK385 BKK-HKG-BKK in F suites. Aircraft is A380-800. I currently have seats 1K and 2K assigned. I have had a look on seatguru but not much information available.

What F seats would you recommend on the A380?

JFK to DXB Economy Seating

Hello all,

I will be flying from JFK to the Maldives in April via Emirates. First leg is JFK to DXB. Nearly all seats are open in economy at this point, I have checked seatguru and it shows 43, 53 as ideal rows, but when you try to book those they are next to bassinet mounts and they throw up a disclaimer saying the gate agent can change your seat. Anyone with any experience with these rows? Any other a380 seating strategies for me? We were thinking about taking 43 A and C and rolling the dice...

It is a 13+ hour flight so any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I will be flying from SFO-DXB (EK 226) 777-300ER onto Maldives on Emirates in F. There are two of us. Any suggestions for best seats for traveling couples?

Either of 1E+1F or 2E+2F should be good enough. I would go for row 1 (first to be served) though some others would prefer row 2 (more cozy and quiet).

Thanks Jackiedada- I have not called EK yet for seat assignments, but Expert Flyer shows row 1 as blocked. So we'll try row 2 for now.

is there a privacy screen that can be lowered in between 1E and 1F. I'm planning to upgrade to the F cabin (on the 777-300ER) and the wife gets very nervous while flying.

You can - see my response to your other post. Though imo in the suites, it is going to be a bit awkward to hold her hands or reach across to her if you want to.

Flying a couple legs on the A380 F with a friend. We are thinking to take the two middle suites so we can talk -- any recommendations on 2E/K vs. 3E/K?
