Emirates Seating Guide

A380

First:
  1. Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
  2. Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
Business:
  1. General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
  2. Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
  3. Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
Economy:
  1. General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777

First:
  1. Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
  2. Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
Business:
  1. General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
  2. Solo travelers:
  3. Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
Economy:
  1. General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

I´v booked:
EK 152 CPH-DXB March-2012 777-200/200 ER
EK 3705 DXB-MRU March 2012 777-300 ER (Private Suite)
EK 3706 MRU-DXB April 2012 777-300 ER
EK 151 DXB-CPH April 2012 777-200/200 ER
Emirates changed the aircraft DXB-MRU-DXB from A330-200 to 777-300ER on my booking a couple of days ago.
All aircraft type above according to emirates.com

All in business class. What can i expect? Lie flat or not

Tried to find out here on Flyertalk and seatguru.com but no exact answer. Can anyone please help me find out(Picture is best of course).

EK39/40

Hi, I'm on EK40 from BHXDXB in Jan and wondered if I can expect a better hard product than when I took the same flight in Jan of this year? It was a "sleeperette" (as in you only get a little sleep!). I tend to fly BA and haven't come across such an old style J offering for a while. Have things changed in the last 12months and are there images hidden away on a post somewhere? It is a 2 class 777-300ER.
Thanks!

Both previous posters can use the "See what's on your flight" tab, that is on the home page of emirates.com, to determine what seating is currently projected for their flights. No guarantee necessarily but a pretty good indicator and not often wrong overall.

Specifically with regards to EK40 you can expect the old style "sleeperettes which have been slightly blinged up in the last year or two in many cases but still the same basic reclining seat with legrest. A bone of contention for many of us who spend a lot of time in them ...

A380 - which seat map do I believe?

Flying SYD-AKL-SYD, out in Y, back in C.

Looking at seatmaps online,
http://seatexpert.com/seatmap/397/Emirates_Airbus_A380/
has a seat infront of 68K.

but
http://www.airreview.com/Seatmap/Emi...A380/index.htm
not only doesn't - it also has a picture of the seat, with nothing in front?

Same for 23K on the return:
Airreview says there is extra legroom - shows a picture of the cubbyhold for your legs. Seatexpert knows nothing.

Are these good seats?

No seat in front of 68K.

23K is a nice seat but idk about extra legroom.

ps that airrview site is very cool! Is 43H as roomy as the picture suggests? Or is it an optical illusion?

Both good seats, although bear in mind you will not be able to pre-select 68K.

Yep - row 43 has loads of space: The picture on the Emirates A380 Seat Map is dead accurate: you get two large windows all to yourself!

I'm on the 777-300ER from DXB to KHI somewhere soon, chose 46A-B although seatguru is flagging the seats. However I am travelling with a colleague and since the flight is only 2hrs I thought it would be OK - am I correct?

46B/J v 47B/J on 777-300ER (with suites)

Is the misalignment with the row in front significant for row 46? Are traytables and PTVs in the armrest or seat in front of you? I was leaning towards 46 because I think having that "space" behind 45H will be useful for storing my carry on and stretching my legs (at an angle). However, I can easily switch to row 47. I will ask for an exit but i think I'd prefer more width to more legroom especially on the B777 which already has narrow seats!

Thanks!

Misalignment only slight, can watch the seat back screen in front without problem. (applies 46B as well as 46H) Screen not in arm rest. Tray both in armrest and on the seat back in front. I like the space behind 45C or H, not sure if your carry on can go there for take off and landing though. Quite difficult to put your legs into the space because of the fixed armrest on 46B or H. Row 47 has more width to the seats as no tray table in the arms.

Seatmap for seat selection shows a First section. Does this mean there will be F or will J passengers be moved up? What could I expect in the F section?

What row does it show J starting it?

The seat map only shows the class you're in but has the words "First Class" to the left hand side whether there is a First cabin available or not.

It starts at row 6. I'm in 9 - only other option further forward is row 6 (bassinet). Should I stay where I am?
