Row 7. The other problem with aisle seats on Row 8 is that you will have the entire Y crowd brushing past you as they come in to board their seats, as the seats protrude a bit into the aisle.

On the other hand I found seats 8A, 8K (window seats) good one, good privacy, no seat in front of you, (just ICE can be located in strange position on the wall in front of you).
But 8B and 8J, well yes, I would avoid this seat if possible.

Now I had the choice to select 7J,7K or 9J,9K (for two of us) and I selected
row 9 - finding window more important.

Is the window in row 7 completely blocked? I read one report that said there was a partial view.

No it isn't. There are 2 windows with every J seat - row 7 is missing the one that is closer to the seat. This image should give you a good idea.

According to seat guru, there are 2 versions of the 3 class B773.
V1 has the one window blocked and V2 has no mention of a blocked window.

You can tell which version from the emirates seat map by looking at Economy Row 50, Version 2 has seats at 50 A&B and in version 1 the last row is 49 A&B.

I don't know how accurate Seat Guru is, but i am interested, as I have seat 7K booked later on this year.

It's not (and neither is the EK website).

I understand that the information above is correct for Row 7 and there will always be the window adjacent to the seat missing.

At the rear of the plane, on the A,B,C side, there are 3 rows missing on the aircraft with the crew rest area. The seat totals are correct with 304 or 310 in Y dependant on type.

Any difference in the first suites in the A380, the 777-200LR and the 777-300ER? Any personal preferences?

The ones on the 777 seem a bit more roomier because the cabin height is a bit more and the height a tad more. No difference between the 200 and the 300. No showers or bar on the 777 though. I prefer the 380. More info here.

Now I was question about best economy seats for view from the window (that is not blocked by the wings).
Can't remember it from my previous flight...
I see that in B777-300ER three class configuration (all versions?) wing starts somewhere at row 17 just the beginning of economy. Row 18 has no window. Row 17 is exit row and is blocked.
What about row 18 and 19? How much the view is blocked by the wing? (e.g. will be possible to see ground?)

if I would avoid first rows in economy, which is first good row for view from the window?

I'm planning it for mainly daytime DXB-NRT flight in Y.
Return will be night flight in J(from KIX), but I don't have enough miles to upgrade both ways So I found upgrading longer and night sector more important.

Alternatively I can go for last rows with only two windows seat...as there will be two of us..but somehow I always prefer to be more in front...but what your opinion about row 48 A&B? (row 46 and 47 is taken...)


Also, what about seat pitch in B777 in Y?
Seatguru says it's 32' but my personal experience in B777 Emirates are quite good(although I'm quite tall), suggesting that it's something like 33'.
Which is the number shown e.g. by Airreview.
Why such details are nor provided by airline, if details issued by e.g. seatguru are incorrect people can choose another airlines - just because of it. So correct data is crucial...Airlines are hoping that no-one use sites like seatguru?

I have some upcoming flights in Emirates. Could someone tell me if i've selected good seats please?

EK248- 9A (777-300ER)
EK306- 9A (a380)
EK379- 7F (777-300ER) (about being a "middle aisle" seat; my brothers will be in the "middle middle" and the other "middle aisle" seats)
EK347- 9A (777-300ER)

I like 9A on B777.
Row 7 can be good, as is in the smaller cabin.
I never was there
Just note "middle middle" seat is bad (narrower), but if it's group of three still good option...

Got my first Emirates flight coming up in April in Y, Osaka-DXB (777-300ER) DXB-LHR (Airbus A380-800 v2).

Apart fom the obvious ones on the A380 with the extra legroom 68A etc which are already gone are there any others to look out for?

Normally go for the 2 separate ones at the back on the 777 anyway on BA so those should be ok. Looking forward to the A380 though, just a shame it's in Y!

According to seatexpert.com, I know the seats to avoid. What are major difference btw say window A vs. aisle B type seat [besides the obvious?]. Or are they all relatively the same?

She would like somewhere quiet and away from traffic and noise.

A/K have longer leg room than the corresponding B or J seats (but only noticeable really if you are over 170cm imho). Is this a day or night flight? If you really want to be away from noise, I would have to recommend earplugs - the main cabin is large and dormitory like, the smaller cabin to the rear is close to the bar and galley. Traffic - depends on how much movement there is to the bar, I think! And meal services, which are served from the rear galley.
