Question on that....is there a difference on what you pay (points/$$) at a check-in upgrade vs. an onboard upgrade? Seems anybody looking for an upgrade, with whatever Emirates status, would inquire long before they get on the plane. With only 6 seats in F, and being how awesome it looks to be, I can’t imagine there ever being ‘space available’ on board?
Thanks

No doubt answered somewhere, but 30 minutes searching (probably with the wrong keywords) and I can't find an answer. When you reach a new tier, are your tier points reset? And if so, are any other points earned on the trip that pushed you up a tier lost? Can you go from Blue direct to Gold?
I have a trip with >50K tier points. Will I be silver after the outbound? Will the points reset? Or will they check at the end of the month (when I have returned) and set me directly as a gold?

One significant advantage of on board upgrade in either miles or cash is that you don’t pay tax (for example APD for flights departing the UK).

I
You can pay cash on board. It will be the same price as at check in unless they are offering special upgrades to fix an oversold Y cabin.

I was not aware of the cash on board option (presume it’s card of course). Is that also restricted to Skywards Silver and above, like is the case for on board miles upgrades?

In late June I am flying the fifth freedom route. Used MR points and transferred to EK in order to get the bar experience for wife and I in Business Class. How do upgrades work? There's lot of availability in F. I set an alert on Emirates so if they open up awards I'm supposed to be notified but the page also says "Upgrade Not Available."
Thanks for any tips.

Is the check-in/onboard upgrade offered at any sort of discount? Or just the difference between the paid/miles fare difference?

Hello,
I plan to make an EK partner award booking on JAL. Stipulation is that you can only book return, and the return date opens up about three weeks after the outbound leg (as I want to book as soon as it is available).
Is anyone aware of what change fees are typically charged; and presumably I can just adjust the return leg, without impacting the outbound leg?
For reference, this is Sydney --> Tokyo.
Any assistance appreciated!
FWIW: I called and they said simply a $25 change fee to change the return leg. So I shall plan that.

Just booked J saver flights for dec/jan
noticed at the end of the fare information line it says “Reward upgrade restricted”?
anyone know what this means?
just went back and looked at all my J saver tickets from the last 5 years and not one of them says that at the end of the fare info line.
