You must forgive me as I'm rather new to FT, but could anyone tell me what the 'OMNI' section is in the 'Jump to Forums' header section?

Omni means everything. It's basically everything off-topic to all other forums and can only an accessed by members who've reached a certain post-count, it often contains more controversial posts

Looks like I might drop down to gold for next year , just looking at the fares ex-South Africa for J and holy mother of god what a whack up by EK ! 45 thousand South African rand return from Cape Town to Lgw !

Rent for the day:
Just off 779 from CPT. It was a sauna! Absolutely ridiculously hot. In a t-shirt and 6hrs into the flight still sweating. I figured it was going to cool down eventually so didn't bother asking... Silly me.
Also as is typical for ex-CPT flights little to no Good greeting. SCM with tablet said a brief hello but the other FA who was handing out fast track cards spent 5 mins chatting to someone 2 rows up then never bothered to hand me one. So I blew one of my saved up ones to end up with virtually no advantage in the queues... Hmpf.

I just wrote to EK about this, but there's a subcontractor at SFO to Avalon that has terrible cars. Not just once, but at least 3 different vehciles. Torn leather, mechanical issues (suspension, exhaust rattles, no air conditioning).
When you get an Avalon car (Cadillac ATS, Lexus RX) it's great, but oh my the subcontractor's Towncars are terrible.

Was thinking about staying at the Grosvenor but now that I know about this, might stay at the Sheraton Grand.

No shortage of hotel options - my two current favourites are jumeriah al naseem and the four seasons in Jumeriah.
