Generally speaking, that load report is showing that eco-class is still being sold (nine is the hightest) so it is probably not full. It also is showing business class seats for sale. Essentially, not likely for op-ups or bump offs.
Happy travels. With a wide-open J cabin, EK often would oversell quite a bit (basically Y + unsold J + forecast margin for no-shows/cancellations), I've seen Y over by 40 before. By that logic at the point it was over by 31 there were still 9 seats for sale. HOWEVER, the fact that many fare classes in the Y cabin (other than Y class itself - this can be confusing) are still available at 9+ does indeed indicate that it is unlikely (but not impossible) to be oversold, though there aren't specials (X) for sale and I'm not totally up to date on fare classes, I think also no savers (T and V), but flex is wide open and there might be some savers hidden in M or Q, not sure about that - either way this is not indicative of a highly loaded flight. Given loads I've seen recently on EK I'd expect >80% load at the minimum, with a good chance >90% for BHX, BKK could well be oversold. |
Hi guys,
could someone please check EK570 on 17NOV for me? I tried checking it just ends up with server not responding. Thanks in advance :) |

We're business class on all 3 legs outbound, economy class on all 3 legs inbound, EK have quoted just over £5K for 2, upgrading from economy to business class on the return. Can anyone advise on business class availability on the following? Feb 02 LGK - KUL: Malaysia 1459 KUL - DXB: Emirates 343 DXB - BHX: Emirates 39 |

Checking F availability
Hi everyone,
First time using FT, but long time reader and lurker. I'm wondering if anyone could help me check loads and availability on EK9 Dxb to LGW on Sunday 26th, please? I'm flying with my Stepbrother and we booked our tickets separately. I'm Gold and he's on my household account. I'm pretty certain the tickets are the cheapest saver tickets. A few questions 1. In your experience, what do you think the chances are of an op up on this flight? 2. Is there any way of finding out of there is award availability. MMB says not, but I can keep checking. 3.do you think it's worth upgrading the lounge part (paid) in Dxb for the first class lounge experience if I can't upgrade the ticket? 4. What's the loads looking like on this flight? Cheers all. |
Hi Brink, congratulations on finding your voice in the FT community!
I'm sure that someone will come along who can run a load check request for you, but in future please use this thread to make requests according to the wiki. I'll try help you out with some information. 1. EK changed their policy regarding op-ups last year and priority is now given to those who paid the highest fare for their tickets and platinum members. After that, you might be in with a chance but imo that route is usually heavy with plats. Being on saver fares puts you down at the bottom. I assume you're already travelling in J as you only get to upgrade one cabin class (unless you get an op up and then use miles). 2 and 4: you'll need to find a kind person with an expert flyer subscription to look that up for you. 3: These things are always a value judgment on behalf of the person paying for it. For example: I'm going to pay into the DXB F lounge next week because I really cannot be bothered leaving the airport for my 9h transit despite STPC (I've already done this 6x this year and want a change of scene). For that I get 4h, hoping for longer. I want to sleep on a (flatter than the J lounge) lounger, shower (without the massive queues), eat (from the a la carte menu), smoke cigars and perhaps drink some nice wine (which is really where i'll get my money's worth). For that, I'll happily pay $100. Think what you want out of your lounge experience and then put a price on it. Safe travels, hopefully someone else can help you out with loads. |

I'd not count on an op-up on a LON route, especially on Savers. 26th too far ahead to see anything meaningful in the load. |
Here is the load info:
EK 9 DXB 11/26/17 2:35 PMLGW 11/26/17 6:25 PM388 Daily 82% / 12mF4 A3 J7 C7 I0 O0 P0 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L0 T0 V0 X0 FWIW, it is a little far out to glean much info from this. Still selling economy, business and 3 F. No Z or D award availability on EK9. |
Loads:
EK9 DXB 26/11/17 14:35 LGW 26/11/17 18:25 388 Daily 71% / 15m F4 A3 J7 C7 I0 O0 P0 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9 B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L0 T0 V0 X0 EF shows no F award availability (Z fare) for any DXB/LGW flight that day. Note that it is quite early (12 days out) to do a load check that is anywhere near meaningful for an op-up possibility. (edit: Flaneurs just beat me to it, with the same comment!) |

Can someone help me out with a load check on the following:
20 Nov 17 EK413 SYD-DXB Hoping for a J-F op up (Gold on Flex). |

Oh, and I said EK was selling 3 F on this flight when actually it is 4 available (at full fare First). My apologies. By the way, what is the easiest way to copy / paste this information? This is the first time I answer a flight load request. I am using Safari in a MacBook and the copy / past was a bit cumbersome.... |
Thanks for all the helpful feedback. In essence, sounds like getting into First by any means other than paying cash is very slim indeed. So I'll not build up any hopes of that.
I quite like the idea of paying for an upgrade into the First lounge in DXB, but I do like that champagne bar in the business lounge. Having said that, nothing to prevent us doing a bit of lounge hopping on the day. Sometimes three hours just isn't enough time - might have to get there earlier to fully enjoy the offerings lol. |

I am using Safari in a MacBook and the copy / past was a bit cumbersome.... As far as cut and paste for the load request numbers goes, I use an iPad most of the time and it is indeed a little cumbersome also. I have learned exactly where to try to grab the copy in the middle and then spread out to the limits of the end and then the beginning. Once you have the hang of it it isn’t too bad but certainly isn’t fluid either. I have never tried it from a Mac so maybe somebody else has better info on how to do it. |
Hello folks,
Just wondering if there has been much change to the loads on a flight to the UK from Dxb at the weekend: - Date of flight (departure date) 26th Nov 2017 - Flight Number: EK9 - Origin: DXB - Destination: LGW Thanks so much for your help. Very much appreciated. |
I don’t think it looks a whole bunch different, Brink. Here you go:
EK 90DXB 11/26/17 2:35 PMLGW 11/26/17 6:25 PM388 Daily 77% / 15mF3 A0 J7 C7 I7 O0 P0 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L0 T0 V0 X0 For everbody’s reference, the old load was: F4 A3 J7 C7 I0 O0 P0 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L0 T0 V0 X0 I believe they sold an F ticket and the are no longing offering discounted F. With I fares opening up to 7, I think that means they are now selling more discounted J fares. |
Thanks for the update

Help - Travel with pregnant wife EK216 30.11.
Dear experts,
I am an EK Gold and traveling with my pregnant wife on this 16 Hour flight (EK 216 LAX-DXB 30.11). 1.) We were booked with Flexplus ticket in Economy 2.) a few days ago I called EK to upgrade my wife to Business with Skywards miles - they split the reservation and have done so as I dint have enough miles for both of us 3.) Wife is pretty upset as she rather travels with me in Economy than alone is Business Questions: I am ready to follow her wish to downgrade her again, if we for example get a complete middle row in Economy so she can lay down during the flight. Or both travel in business in case there is a chance of a Opup for me. a.) I followed the link and found the following information: F4 A4 J7 C7 I7 O0 P7 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9 B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L9 T0 V0 X0 What do you guys think about the booking situation? b.) Seatmap shows very less reserved seats. The blocked ones in the front of Y are all preferred seatings (which are lets say 50% occupied when I check on EK under managing booking). The back of the plane (last third) is completely blocked and can not be reserved. Call center doesn't know why too What would you guys do? Reserve one seat in the middle row? Further back? So the chances are there to get a complete row? Please advise. Thanks so much!!!! |

I'd go 4-5 rows from the back to not be too close to whatever is in the back (I'm guessing A380, only part of the plane I haven't been is aft lower deck)
