Could someone please check loads on the following two flights (31st Aug)

EK303 (PVG-DXB)

Busy but not as busy as GLA.

If you are flex plus - very good chance ex DXB to GLA. Most flights are over to the UK at the moment.

When checking in tonight for EK303, I was told the onward flight (Glasgow) has 'not been closed' and a few seats still available.

No idea how their systems work

Sorry didn't see you had posted here, too. And that the flight also goes to DXB, hence my comment in the other thread about route mattering. Yes indeed, looks like if you're flying MLE-DXB there may be a chance of an op-up!

So 653 is CMB-MLE-DXB, interesting, quite circular. I'd have thought it'd be MLE-CMB-DXB or DXB-CMB-MLE...

I was just about to look these up, but they're all over a month away, which is quite far, unless you want to know if a specific fare bucket is available? In a month EK could sell another 100 seats on each of these flights.

all, can we get some consensus and maybe a framework around this thread as it seems to have become a staple of the EK forum. Aside from taking business away from Expertflyer, which is a fantastic and very reasonably priced service, a lot of requests are very far out or don't contain all require information, I propose a Wiki which outlines that a request should be posted <10 days prior to departure (perhaps 7 days?) and must contain 4 items per flight:

- Origin
- Destination
- Flight number (as there may be multiple flights per day)
- Date

If someone has interest in seats of a specific fare bucket being available, e.g. to know when they might be able to find a Saver seat, in all honesty, they should pay for the subscription. Also, there is a free trial.

Lastly, perhaps a limit of 1 request (up to 4 flights per request) per month per user? More than that and one should just subscribe.

[To the OP of the quoted post, this wasn't directed at you, I just merged a general thought I had earlier today into this reply, please don't take offense]

Actually, I totally agree... I wasn´t really thinking.
Of course I should check the loads closer to departure.

I stand corrected :-)

I fully agree with this. EF is a great and affordable service. What might not be well known (or all that obvious) is that you can switch your monthly $9.99 subscription on and off very easily. As there are often 3 or 6 months breaks in my travel, I let my account 'sleep' until I need it again.
So unless it's REALLY a quick once-off, I don't really support these 'load requests'. It's unfair on Expert Flyer!

Happy to hear it! If they were op/ups, throw the details in the 2017 community op up thread, if you feel like it. It helps all of us on the forum when we build data points.

It can be found here:

I happen to be on two flights (booked today, EU-DXB-ASIA) that have these loads after the booking was done (both 77W). Before booking, 2 Y availability was on both.

F2 A0 J0 C0 I0 O0 P0 Y0 E0 R0 W0 M0 B0 U0 K0 H0 Q0 L0 T0 V0 X0

I tried another (dummy) booking on EK site and it indeed showed zero Y availability.
Flights are almost 3 weeks out. How is that possible?

Flights were packed last week as well in Y, European uni holidays end around now and school holidays start. EK definitely seems to be doing ok on Economy loads

Mr. Kyka Oct 6, 2017 5:37 am

I subscribed to expertflyer to check some loads of upcoming flights

The flights were purchased by a supplier, Y saver and they wont upgrade my ticket even if I pay the difference

Anyway, I was hoping I could upgade at the airport either via miles / cash.

Am I right in thinking both the return flight is 100% full, but I may have the options for outbound flights?
