D is J saver award and upgrade, not a bucket into which you can purchase a ticket.

Got it. Thanks a lot. I still haven't purchased the ticket yet, I was thinking of getting Flex + to improve my chances to upgrade with miles. But don't know what's the availability now on BKK on January 25th on EK373 connecting and taking EK203 to JFK
Also can someone please check departing Jan 26th EK377 BKK to DXB and EK201 DXB to JFK..Looking to upgrade Flex+ economy to business.

It doesn't improve the chance of an upgrade - a D bucket fare is either available or it isn't. Buying a Flex Plus will only reduce the number of miles needed to upgrade (as well as having more flexible Ts and Cs and a higher price).

Note that you can usually see D bucket availability by simply doing a dummy booking, it will show you right on the website if an upgrade is available (you may need to be logged in with skywards account, however) and even whether a discounted upgrade is available.
